Here's why I don't want Boards to merge with the Forum - and it's not why you think.

It's not because the main forums are "so much better omg". It's actually...the opposite.

I don't want Boards to merge with the Forums because I don't want all those weeaboo idiots on here. It's SUCH a breath of fresh air to be able to stroll through a message board and not see lolis or strange drawings of foxes. I don't mind the hentai, but have yet to see any here anyway.

We have better people here. If anything, keep GD and the forums as they are simply to keep the filth out of here. We're the stronger community.

I don't think it's fair to preclude everyone from being able to enjoy their preferred forum. Not everyone using the general boards follows the description you provided, and not everyone on these boards portrays ideal traits that the community would like to see from Summoners.

The solution here is to keep empowerment within the community, where the better content will prevail and the chaff will be left by the wayside. Other discussions regarding what kind of tools would further improve the community and moderation power would support that idea.

That is exactly the reason I expected...

Also I'm pretty sure the purpose of the boards beta is not to pull the holy and supreme posters out of the cesspool of GD, it's meant to replace GD, and eventually will.

There would be no reason for Riot to continue having two separate forums after this beta is over.
