Maybe there should be a lock on those words at the start of a post, or a special "post of the day" tag or icon, that's not just an addition to the title?

Such as some people repeatedly getting PotD whereas others haven't even gotten it once or the fact that it's not always the case that it's well written. (Which can be forgiven because sometimes it's EU and english isn't people's first language)
Still, I feel PotD shouldn't be something you can hit over and over. It should sorta be a special event that everyone gets a chance at. Giving it to the same person twice or more seems a bit unfair.
(But then again I'm probably mad salty)
Sneak Dog1 votesI think one should not look at the writer of the post, only at the post and the discussion it lead to. Everyone has a chance, but isn't the goal of potd to promote good threads? Should we not then promote the best unpromoted thread?
ModCaptainMårvelous2 votesThere are plenty of good content creators and discussions sparked that are untouched, however. Like I said, everyone should have a chance to get their discussion or ideas promoted. Giving it to someone more than once is a bit unfair to those who work hard but have yet to be promoted on the PotD.
Asides, one PotD should be enough to make you look at the author and go "Wow, he/she has a good head on their shoulders and makes good stuff. I should look for their posts more often". I shouldn't have to be constantly reminded that John Doe makes good content and that you should follow/pay heed to him.
MrBuffington1 votesI think it's pretty unfortunate that post of the day is inherently limited to one post per day (and even then, it's often not updated every single day, I'm guessing since just one day on the community beta doesn't give a post as much exposure as Riot thinks is deserved. Not to toot my own horn or anything).
I do see a lot of great content being posted, but there's also more posts that don't seem to be as developed (ie a simple question about the game mechanics, complaints about minor issues in the game, yet another Sion rework idea that's only one unpunctuated run-on sentence long, etc.) that Riot has to sift through. As stated in the introduction to post of the day, the goal is to promote posts that probably won't get the exposure Riot thinks the post deserves. I'm assuming they direct their search more towards posts that don't already have a ton of discussion or upvotes on them, which could be a goldmine of ideas and discussion, or could be one of the posts I mentioned before.
I sort of wish they would also put a date on when the post was promoted to post of the day, that way maybe more than one can be pinned as a post of the day at a time without being confusing (and being more accurate to the name). More content could be recognized, without reducing the exposure time

Maybe it'd just be easier to do a "Poster" of the day with 3-4 of their best threads as opposed to just a singular post of the day. That way you're still getting a spotlight on content and you can expand upon more than just one singular thread.
MrBuffington1 votesI think that'd be a good idea, or have some way to link to other content that user has created. It'd be a lot like a streamer spotlight, and would be a good way to recognize users who consistently create good content. Hopefully it won't only be gated to users who have created a lot of content though, it'd be a shame to miss out on those one-post wonders or newer users who fall under the radar.
