Known Bugs

Daen··6 votes·6,631 views

Hi everyone,

As mentioned by Tamat and due to the fact I have too much spare time, this thread is being created. If you know of any Boards-specific bugs that aren't listed here, feel free to post a comment or create a new thread with [Bug] in the title, as it makes them easier to find!

Last Updated: 08/30/2014

#In Progress

2014

  • Will update if this information is provided

#Known

2014

  • [01/01] Season 3 Ranked badges do not appear on mouseover
  • [07/21] Voting within the nested view's max depth can cause the deepest replies to become out of order
  • [07/21] Autoscrolling to comments occasionally doesn't work properly
  • [08/25] Non-NA users can become unable to vote on posts
  • [08/29] The "Show More" button can create duplicate threads
  • [08/29] Opening attachments in the Red Tracker close the open thread
  • [08/29] Threads accessed via the "Show More" button in the Red Tracker lose formatting
  • [08/30] Posting a discussion can delete all the content of the thread without posting it
  • [08/30] The "Show More" button remains visible even if there are no more posts to show

#Solved

2014

  • Will update once bugs are solved

@Tamat: Will enough information be provided to warrant organization by "In Progress", "Known", & "Solved"?

Will continue to edit this, but sleepytime.

Maybe the name should change to be [Boards] Known Bugs or something like that so that others don't confuse anything?

Other than that, this would be a lot better if you'd document bugs that you and others have found, and have documented steps to reproduce. If you guys find them, then we can either confirm them as bugs, or explain how they are working as intended. Many of these bugs that you copy/pasted from that old thread have been fixed. When this list is larger, and more accurate, then I'll release one of the devs! ;)

Any chance we could discuss this on the client?

This isn't possible unless I delete and recreate the thread; is that what you are suggesting?

This thread is limited to bugs I and others have found, yes. For many bugs it's reliant on the thread creator or another contributor such as Riot outlining those reproduction steps.

This is especially true for localized issues such as the EUW voting problem and very specific usage cases such as the act of attempting to post a thread deleting data.

Many of these bugs that you copy/pasted from that old thread have been fixed.

Wouldn't it be easier to point out which of them have been fixed rather than just saying that an indeterminate number of them are resolved?

When this list is larger, and more accurate, then I'll release one of the devs!

Do you feel this could be more back-and-forth rather than an attempt to assemble these bugs without knowledge of what's on Riot's radar?

A quick point; why is it desirable to have a long bug list? Ideally, shouldn't it be short or nonexistent?

How do you define accuracy, exactly? If it's based upon a comparison of the data in the thread and Riot's internal information, that's something we as a community have no control over.

Adding an additional comment in the hopes this might be seen.

Note sure about this, maybe somebody can investigate it:

The "Show More" button seems not to be working properly, I just encountered a case where it would give me 3 more replies to a thread but the button didn't disappear, looking further into it I noticed that a answer I posted to the thread was still not showing up, pressing the button again had no effect.

Do you happen to have a screenshot? I'm unsure of what you're referring to. Did the button show up on top of the 3 more replies that were given? Was it blocking some sort of key feature?

DerPunkt1 votes

No its just as if the function is not properly working.

So I went to a hugh Thread, pressed the button, it showed more Posts, the button stayed at the bottom of the page (indicating that there is still more to be shown) and when i press it it does not show more posts.

Normaly, when you use it the button should either disappear to show you that you already are seeing all answers to a post, or it should stay to indicate that you can press it again because there are still hidden answers to be unhidden.

Ahh gotcha. Added, thanks!

[08/30] The "Show More" button remains visible even if there are no more posts to show

Not sure if this realy is the case. Some times there seems to be more to be actualy shown but it works "only once" i guess.

So as I mentioned, there was a Thread i posted in and when i tried to find my post again i pressed on show more, and it showed some more but not mine (i checked in my profile from there i was able to find the post so it was not deleted)

So it seems as if it does not show everything and only than stay visible.

It is realy hard to explain but: I pressed the show more button in this thread i am talking about but this time i reached it via my profile(my posts) and than it showed a few more threads ( mine was obviously already visible due to the method I got to the thread) and this time the button acutally did disappear.

So I am not entirle sure what this bug is acutally about.

Yep, I think we're on the same page. Show More works properly, but once everything is displayed it can remain as a button despite no longer having any use. Is that what you're going for?

DerPunkt1 votes

not entirely. So has to possible effects where i guess only one is the actual bug, either as you say it the button jsut remains without having an effect, or (and this is what i am trying to explain) the show more option is not working correctly and not showing all posts, there for the button remains (due to the fact that there is still more) but it doesn't work anymore.

Mayby try opening a thread with X posts and press the show more and than just manually count if it acutally desplays all posts now. If the number you are counting is lower than X than the problem is in the routin showing the hiddden pots and not in the one that makes the button disappear.

Looks like non-NA users who come to report bugs do not have a Help & Support link in the Boards list on the left side of the website.

Daen1 votes

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but more of a feature request. The Help & Support link says Help & Support (NA) as you're aware, so I presume that was a conscious choice on Riot's part.

That's not to say I don't think you guys should be able to report bugs, but still.

Alright this is a small test, for a Bug i try to reproduce.

Seems to work as intendet

Explaination. This morning I noticed that Infoprofil tool thingyx ( the one telling you about notifivations ans which account you are logged into atm) showed me my NA account after i just posted. I checked and the bost was form my EU account. 2 possibilitys now, either I just was wrong and it stated EUW all alonge, or the display does not always refresh. BTW I find it funny that i can be logged in with two accounts at the same time. Should this be?

Using any notifications resets Chrono view

Hitting back button resets chrono view, even if you don't actually change the setting in that thread.

"Show more" button sometimes causes different nested comments to dissappear. Unsure if completely gone, or if just invisible.
