[Feedback] A generic list of things requested by the community

For Rioter convenience and ease-of-use, just gonna be listing some things that myself and others in the community are looking for. Please note that "I hate this format get rid of it 100%" is not legitimate feedback and will be ignored entirely.

Mostly these are currently just things I would like. I will, however, be adding more to the list as people chime in. I'll probably also add italicized/bold markings to signify when something is "Hot" (Requested by a large portion of the community)

Requested Forum Features

  • Better support for the roleplaying community.
  • Better support for the content creation community (See: Writers, Video Producers, Artists, etc.)
  • A private message system on this forum.
  • Profile editing and/or management.
  • Subscription/Blacklist options to track or remove people.
  • Moderation improvements.
  • Tracking a specific thread.
  • Random button?

Requested Format Options

  • Underline would be nice.
  • Possibly colored text, albeit with limitations to help avoid spamming.
  • Headers (These were implemented a while ago but I don't think they work anymore)
  • Quick-format options for lists/block quotes
  • Possible support for attachment embedding

Requested Forum Edits

  • Remove upvote/downvote button until after you enter a thread Implemented, apparently!
  • Alternatively, remove the vote views from the front page all-together

Feel free to add your own. I'll try to keep the list up-to-date. (As well as strikeout things that are implemented and/or heavily disagreed with)

Here's one, a post counter. Since getting custom avatars is impossible and there's no way to differentiate yourself as a regular contributor otherwise, getting recognition in the form of forum titles or a post counter would be great.

Also I really support getting rid of voting before seeing a thread. There have been many times I've disagreed with someone but changed my mind after hearing their argument. I fear this may be lost with people just reading and voting based on forum titles, not actually reading any threads except in order to comment.

Bigger icons.

Actual avatar support.

Support for the flat layout. Along these same lines, it needs to be easier to directly quote people. Pressing a button is easier than the hoops I have to jump through to quote someone here.

Report post/user button. Not just blacklisting, the ability to report people spewing obscenities for no reason.

Better moderation so that we can actually imbed our own images without the forums being flooded with porn. (This bears repeating, since it is the very problem plaguing GD right now.)

I would add a "Follow Thread" option to your list of requests. At this moment, if there aren't any direct replies to your posts/threads, you aren't notified in any way.

There was a pretty complete discussion about it here, for reference's sake.

I think "Moderation Improvements" needs to be bumped up the list. I know Riot think that crowd-sourced moderation is good, but GD is a perfect example of how it's not.

Another example: Pendragon put a big scary sticky in the old New Player Forum about how if you're not helping new players, you'll be banned. This is great until people realize that this isn't actually happening. Need some bite to go with that bark!
