Ideal Boards Layout

So while we're on the topic of board names and areas I think this would be a good time for some brainstorming. I had a good discussion with a few people in this post and I want to propose a Board Layout that everyone will like. Naturally I probably won't get it right on the first try, so that's where you guys come in! Tell me what's missing, what could be confusing, what's redundant etc etc.

I'm going to be going with a hypothetical "Sub-board" layout. Meaning simply an additional 'tier' of boards. i.e. Clicking Community would show a 'front page' of sorts for all the sub-boards it holds below, while there would also still be a 'main page' as there is now.

  • Boards Feedback
  • Game Discussion
    • Champions & Gameplay
    • Live Gameplay Balance
    • New Players
    • Systems (Tribunal, Honor, etc.) Suggestion by Hyrum Graff
    • Bugs
  • Community
    • Creations
    • Roleplaying (possibly lock this to chrono view)
    • Concepts
    • Memes & Games
  • Maps and Strategy
    • SR
    • TT
    • HA
    • Dom
  • Ranked and E-sports
    • E-sports news/announcements (Red announcements only)
    • E-sports discussion
    • LFG
    • Venting (Maybe? It'd be interesting to see if it worked, and could probably disconnect it from the front page)
  • Service Status
  • Announcements
  • Miscellaneous
  • Help & Support (Region)

#Possible pertinent features

Feel free to mention another mechanic if you think of one.

  • Disconnect from front page (Currently in use for Help & Support)
  • Comment view locking, i.e. locked in discussion view, locked in chronological view (Possibly difficult to implement, idk)
  • Vote thresholds, i.e. posts get to the main page after getting above a certain number of votes to prevent overcrowding. (Can be applied on just main page and not Boards (the ones above sub-Boards), or on both, or elsewhere.)

Thoughts?

I love the intention - at the moment we have no plans to create more than a single level of hierarchy so any nesting is not on the horizon if we ever do it.

Generally one thing to keep in mind is in the best case - boards should be organized by people who share common interest and not by "content category".

For example - you have ranked and Esports connected even though many competitive ranked players are less likely to follow Esports because they're too busy trying to play competitively.
