Voting on Boards

I'd like to know why I can't vote on some boards, but complete trolls can downvote every post that isn't theirs. I've found generally bad ideas that I couldn't downvote, or genuinely good ideas that I couldn't upvote. But people are free to downvote/upvote me... how do I make it so people can't vote on my threads? I don't like my ideas being subject to people who cast opinions like they take a shit. Doors closed and washed hands.
