[Feedback] Links in posts go back to the page you're on

Is there a reason why links in a post or in comments/replies etc just go straight back to the page you're on? It's kind of annoying to have to copy the link and paste it into another tab every time you want to see a picture on deviantart or go to an original thread. And if I put a link in and change the text (to shorten it, so there's not 50 lines of url), then you can't actually just copy and paste the link I put there.
