Ranked and Draft Pick: Do we need 4 bans each?

I'm just saying, 3 bans was great when League of Legends first came out, but since then there have been many additions to the League, and now there are far too many champions to deal with.

I propose adding a 4th ban to each team's ban list cover all the new champions that have come out over the years.

Discuss.

The only problem I'd have with this is under the rare circumstance which someone plays this game with no acquired champions and their pool goes down drastically. Of course this is a very slim chance, but a important matter to discuss. I would however, like four bans.

Its interesting to think about how much of a really effect on players something like this would have.

Currently, with 3 bans, I can usually find a champ that applies to the team comps and still gives me a decent advantage in lane,

I think there is a good need for an additional 2 bans because of the huge champ pool but this will drive players to expand their pool because this will open up borderline "OP" champs to become permabanned as well.

That or the entire jungle cast... (thanks FF)

I used to think this was needed but I've since changed my mind.

Three bans really makes the most sense because it creates more opportunities for counter play and strategy. If every lane could ban their worst counter that just seems like too much. As it is you have to decide what lanes / positions you want to focus on. I don't think more bans would add to the depth of play.

Not to mention four bans means that in highly competitive play it would be easy to completely shut out players with smaller champion pools.

Besides though I feel like the meta is a little too stagnant (in NA at least) and too many players focus on tier lists the amount of champions may be irrelevant because not every champion is viable in every situation. There are really good situational picks that would suffer to more bans.

Op hate to break it to you. Bans were 2 each side S2. Mid way through they upped it to 3.

Also riot has stated that they would not do 4 but they were looking into 5 bans per side ( year + ago.) the reason was that the rotation process for even numbers does not make sense.

Honestly I literally logged on the site today to make this suggestion, it is very over due. 8 champions banned over 6 would be helpful in ranked 5's. Banning out support, or a certain lane even further could improve chances on hitting a champ that the other player actually plays as a main. Leona, Blitz, Sona, Thresh... bam... you hurt a lot... although a good support will know how to play soraka, morgana, lux, nami, or possibly others. The amount of hard to deal with champs is increasing too. Too many to ban. The "must-bans" are getting harder to define
