Why can't we hover over or click on cham/item icons in the forums?

If I bring up in the editor I get a little info about her when I hover over her icon. Same with , I can see its stats in the editor just fine when I hover over it. Can't do that in the forums.

Why don't the forums proper have that ability? Why can't I lick on the Ahri icon and have it take me to her page. Why can't I click on Rylai's and be taken to a page just for it. Maybe if riot had its act together the champ pages and item pages would give a few basic stats on the champs or items as well.
