That Riot employees would be more engaged? So then how come after weeks of "bots are invading" threads we don't hear a single response? Not even a "we are looking into it"?

Is this denial?

Actually that's not true. If you go to the news feed, you will see an article about changes to the Refer-A-Friend (RAF) program. That article talks all about how the rewards system for the RAF program were a primary cause of the botting issue. People creates bots and refer their accounts to infinitely stack IP, RP, and get Skins, then sell off the secondary accounts that are now level 30 and have some starting IP/RP/Champs/Skins

This is true, and I'll be interested to see the specifics of the RAF changes. I was playing with some low level friends a few days ago, and every single game we played had at least one very obvious bot.

Botting. A major incentive for leveling accounts via botting was to get the exclusive RAF skins and other rewards. Granted it's not the only reason, but a large one.

I think it's more about Riot being overwhelmed with work rather than denial. Riot just finished the World Championships and is working on the preseason, so it makes sense they are a bit quiet.

That being said, there is no excuse for silence on important issues. Even "we're looking into it" is better than nothing.

Daen is right that it's more of the time of year and not the forum migration that's the cause of lack of Red activity. Here is Morello on the subject in a much larger thread asking about the same issue.

I don't get what is so time consuming for:

"Hey guys,

We are aware of this botting issue, just we are swamped with Worlds and S5. We'll get right on it when we have a moment!"

The RAF changes was explicitly stated as a change against botting. To quote Riot Metasystem:

The TL;DR for those of you who just want to get back into game: we’re making some changes to Refer-a-Friend in the upcoming weeks to combat abuses like botting and fraud.

Also, keep in mind that a Red stopped by to explain the current lack of Red activity already. No it's specifically tailored to your subject of preference, but it did happen. You'll have to do a little looking before hand is all.

To be fair, it was explained after the main reason for the lack of Red activity over the past week (Worlds) finished. Sure, it was informative, but it was also a week or two behind. Retroactive clarity is significantly less impactful than initial clarity.

I agree, it's not the ideal. But at the same time a "We're going to be quiet while we're off to worlds" wouldn't have fared too well either, imho. Not really a good way to address not addressing your playerbase for any length of time, even if it is unavoidable.

Well obviously that wouldn't go over too well, but something like the following is better than nothing:

"Hey guys,

Quite a few of the Rioters involved in discussion with the community will be at the World Championships for the next week; they will be rather busy, so our visible activity may be a bit lower during this period of time. Thanks for understanding, and we hope to see you at Worlds!"

Players may view this as Riot prioritizing eSports over game health, but that mentality is a much more deep-seated issue. The announcement itself isn't problematic; the lack of trust is the root of a response like that from the community, and silently doing it anyway won't undo that mentality.

Are you saying that your above statement is not a good way to address it, or that there isn't a good way to address it? If it's the second, my personal opinion is that there's a problem.

If telling the community the reasoning for a choice causes more problems than making the choice silently, maybe the choice isn't the right one. Either that or the explanation wasn't comprehensive enough.

I have a problem transfering my stuff over on the new forums, not that making a new thread doesn't work but the shrunk the max character cap from its original 30,000 to a lot less ( I'm guessing 20,000 from what I tried) Now this isn't a problem for most people but I wrote an extremely lengthy lore for my champ concept and its now to long for these forums.

Sent my message a few times but no response. Maybe stuff will smooth over now that the championships are done

I'm pretty sure Morello just addressed why they're quiet right now, the Refer a Friend announcement addressed their first major direct step towards bot elimination, and there was a thread in "Maps & Modes" a while back that talked about how they're looking at different avenues to prevent botting but can't give out any specific info (I'm going to try and find that thread...)

reds made a comment about this, you should do a search before complaining, they specifically stat they were busy with worlds and preseason.
