Something has to be done about the scrolling....

It is nauseating, and if you expect it to work when this platform is shifted to GD (and this thread size the actual player base generates) you are in for a world of pissed off players with carpal tunnel .

Can you please list pages and ordering? Possibly a function to switch back and forth from most recent and popular? With new nests being listed in most recent preferred just quoting there nested article.

You can sort threads and comments by most recent and popular.

Just noticed that, thank you.

You should be scrolling (in total) less here than in GD. A one line post here takes up ~ ~100px of height where a one line post in GD takes 198px.

So a 100-post discussion here should take a little more than half as much height as a 100-post discussion on general discussion and require a similar ratio less scrolling.

Utterly off the mark. Compare actually textually dense posts. Because of the much, much narrower format here, the marginal increase in post length with text amount is much greater.

So, your assumption that GD posts have more scrolling than here is a joke. Try comparing say, 100 word posts for length.

Having pages breaks up something large into recognizable. A massive reddit discussion is hard to follow because you can't easily scroll to certain places. Pages mean you can just jump to page X. Thats the real complain here.

Yah good point on the line lengths. Lines here are roughly 20% shorter so very long posts would be longer. I'd have to check the average post length to understand the total difference but I assume that the majority are well under 100 words.

Your post is 89 words according to Word, and here is a height comparison

That's a completely different problem, and one that I totally agree with and we hope to address in an upcoming release. Stay tuned.

Just general advice:
When user complains about the problem, the worst thing is to start explaining him, that he has no problem. It might happen that he doesn't specify the problem in a way you would expect and/or understand.
But hell, we're not making fun of you, though some feel like that you are making fun of them.

Yeah good point. My intention was not to make fun of anyone - I have a tendency to come across cold and it's something I'm working on.

I would never dare to speak of your intentions, because I'm sure they are all good - otherwise you wouldn't be here, fighting enraged community. Thanks for reply and best of luck :)
