No New Player Section will severely hurt people's ability to learn the game

Seriously...the new player forum is one of the most used and important forums that you have. You can't just completely get rid of it or integrate it into another board...as the new people will have no idea where to go to learn and get in touch with those that are willing to help to get them to improve. You can't afford to ignore the constant influx of new players as well as those just looking to try to improve.

We agree. We have plans to kick off a Tips & Tricks board this weekend, which will basically be a Strategy Guides / New Player board.

I look forward to seeing that community grow. :)

Personally, I feel there is a pretty distinct difference between players looking for how to get to the next level/learn from pros and players seeing the game for the first time. I don't know if I agree with that all being considered a single board.

I certainly hope they won't be combined long term. The strategy with this and with other boards, is to consolidate similar themes into singular boards with the intent of splitting them up later once critical mass (lots of activity) has been achieved. I think this will work a hell of a lot better than introducing a ton of fragmentation from the start.

I can dig it. Does the concern of the possibility of a lack of communication due to a board not existing or being specific enough ever come up? Example being lore/story before the huge debacle about it made people post everywhere.

Any chance of the board listings being sorted logically now that the old forums are being removed? :)

I agree with you, and I also second what Daen said below (or maybe above - the one on the same depth level as this comment). Once you can pin posts on a board-by-board basis, might I suggest pinning a post at the top of each board that needs work (CommunityCreationsCoughCough), letting people know what you intend?
