I think there's some great comparison/contrast here. It shows how, with a very similar color scheme, but some added depth, Boards could feel much more welcoming and exciting, like the preseason launch page.

I can't upvote this enough. It seems like the Boards has a completely different art style than everything else UI-related that's released (teasers, spotlights, the client, content releases, etc.) and I really don't understand why.
