If I make a post, and for whatever reason it becomes irrelevant (example), should I edit it like in the example, or delete it?

I would say Edit, but leave the original message then add an edit informing others of any changes so it doesn't come off as a low content post.

I would say delete it if it did not hold relevant comments, but otherwise edit if it did.

I'm not sure if it matters either way. If it's irrelevant, it will fall off the listings pretty quickly.

Maybe it's only relevant to a slow-moving board like this one, but I made this thread because I saw the linked thread still reasonably high in the listings, when it's 4 days old and has no content to speak of in it any more.

To be fair, there's a posting volume of around 15 or fewer new posts a day on Boards Feedback. With a larger community I don't really see this being an issue, but even if it is I don't think editing or deleting is a good solution. If the system in place requires a poster to completely remove a post just to get something irrelevant out of the public eye, there's an issue.
