14 day banned and i am petrified to talk in game

I was 14-day banned a few days ago, i am going to take this time to try to figure out why i was given this ban (because honestly i have no clue where i was toxic in my chatlogs), and what i can do to prevent being punished again, but thats not what this is about.

I need to know: How easy will it be for me to get permabanned when i return from the ban?

I am almost never toxic in-game. The only time i am toxic is when someone is toxic to me, in which case i will probably say things that are punishment-worthy. I am not going to deny that.

In fact, if anyone says they are never toxic, they are almost gaurunteed lying. We all have games where we slip up and are rude to our teammates, whether or not we were just defending ourselves.

If i say something like, "we shouldve baroned", after we lose a fight i feel like i might be permabanned for this because, no doubt, Riot is going to see that i was recently 14 day'd and take my chat much more "offensive" or "inflammatory" than they would for a person who wasnt recently punished.

I might not even talk to my teammates at all for a few months after the ban because i dont want to take any risks. There are some very, um, "bitter", people playing this game (lets just leave it as that) who are in a bad mood will report you just because you spoke in game. I feel like Riot might not even read my chatlogs and just see that i was reported after being 14 day'd, and ban me.

Some of you might say, "oh you're overreacting, riot isnt that unreasonable".

Maybe, but you cant deny that im going to be treated with a lot less fairness now that i've been 14 day banned, and riot is definently going to permaban me for something very minor.

I dont know how long this "thin ice" phase will last, but one things for certain: i will not be talking to my teammates for at least a half year unless i absolutely have to.

If you do nothing toxic, you'll be fine. If you do do something toxic and say punishment-worthy things, you will likely end up banned.

They could literally be inting into turrets and while flashing mastery. If someone dares to call them "pathetic" they are risking a chat restriction. I've seen it happen. The only things said were "stop trolling and grow up" + "you're pathetic".

Well, yes. Sportsmanship and respect are things Riot values, and calling someone "bad" doesn't serve any purpose other than to be a jerk. If you legitimately need to inform someone that they're unable to fight an opponent, there are other ways to do so that aren't as condescending or insulting. Use those ways.

Why do you need to even say it? As The Djinn said, doing it for the sole purpose of a put down is just unnecessary.

sorry if im not comfortable playing with a 3-20 duo bot that feel theneed to say no to every ff knwoing we will lose regardless but they can keep us hostage for an extra 15 minutes.

If you aren't comfortable playing League, don't play League.

If you ruin others games, you will be punished. I don't see how you think your enjoyment is somehow more important than hundreds of other players whose games you ruin with your toxicity.

Thats where you are wrong kiddo, if you type in chat you will be punished. If you dont type in chat you are free and clear to ruin as many games as you'd like.

And Riot's stance is that toxicity isn't acceptable -- it doesn't matter if your toxicity isn't AS bad as other forms, since ANY toxicity is something they don't want to see.

Using the other phrases will get you banned sooner, certainly, but the fact of the matter is that you don't NEED to insult your teammates, and don't gain anything for doing so.

according to earlier posts, even saying a stat like 1-20 is considered negative and bannable. you don't even have to make a judgement lol. for example, if you see a white person and you say "you're white" - that may hurt his feelings and you will be banned

Also, do you know how long this "thin ice" phase will last, and how long it will take before i can relax again?

If you say simply that, and you don't say it every time (which borders on harassing), you should be fine. I'd recommend considering something like "Don't come mid -- we can't reliably get him" or "Don't come mid -- I've got it handled" though, just to make it very clear that you don't mean it as a slight on your Jungler.

And the thin ice phase usually lasts 3-4 months, assuming good behavior and an average amount of playtime. It can vary up or down if you play a TON or if your behavior is still borderline.

i've recently seen a post where the person got the 14 day ban the previous year and now he got permad

so take that 3-4 month estimation with a grain of salt

lol chill. you're going to be fine. 4 years ago in my freshman year of highschool i was banned for 2 weeks as well and i never got another again. 46 chat restricted games on my smurf out of nowhere but it never happened again

I just do not trust riot as a company at all.

I have been chat restricted before for saying, "please go afk" (which was said by literally every member on my team to the person, not just me).

Now that i've been 14-day'd and im on Riots "watchlist", i have no clue what i'll be permabanned for and im just not going to talk at all.

I know what you mean and you're right. It has gone way overboard. Blind trust in the system will not fix its numerous fundamental flaws.

I had the same happen 10 months ago, here I am still playing. Just don't talk. AT ALL. It's what I did. NO matter what, DO NOT TYPE. YOu can start loosening up after 3-4 months but DON'T FLAME. You can type stuff like "GJ" or whatever but the less you talk the better.

Yes I did, and I going to assume that this ban and your next are deserved until you post your logs.

You can type all you please, you can type and say whatever you want all game, as long as you don't point it at people. I think this system is subpar too, there is never going to be a perfect system to make sure people actually have an enjoyable experience while also stopping people from trolling. This game is far too large for that, HOWEVER, you don't get banned for just defending yourself, the system is far too lax for that. It doesn't take one game of defending yourself, or even several games to even register a little pop up warning. So unless you get trolls every single game, which once again, you don't, you won't have to defend yourself.

And no, someone going 0/5 at the start isn't someone trolling, because we have ALL done that, you included. So I have to assume that what you actually do is flame at the drop of a hat, that even a single mistake pisses you off to the point of flaming.

Why even waste your time and energy flaming anyway, just mute, report, move on, why waste your time on people that aren't worth it?

I'm just confused on why people won't just mute and move on how easy, depends on how often you get reported, but I can't tell without you posting your logs.

I got my 14 day ban about 4 months ago, afterwards I was constantly most honored and likeable person (like always until some dick starts harassing me all game) so I got my account status cleaned up a bit, have now had my 2nd chat restriction (25 matches) since I was banned. I wasn't being toxic just arguing back with them instead of muting and I became a distraction/problem to the team myself. Sooo yeah just learn to chill it out and get your account status cleaned up and if you're gonna be toxic at least don't name call and harass all game.

If you type the word "bad" or "ff" you will most likely be permabanned on the spot
