I hope Riot gets better at banning / suspensions

So today i got my first “punishment” from riot, i got a 10 game chat restriction and though i don’t believe it was justified, there’s not much i can do about it.

I had a duo in my game (Jg / Mid) and everything was fine, no one was really talking at the start, but the game wasn’t going so well, and at probably 13 mins or so my jungler started flaming but for the most part i ignored it, i asked for help and he started being rude / flaming, said i was being toxic even though up until this point i hadn’t really said anything to anyone, and the whole game was going terribly so we all agreed to just kinda let it end, (my adc was just csing bot not stopping anyone, his support sat with him) my jg was AFK looking up my op.gg, and spent literally 20 mins flaming me, and since the game was already more or less over, i made the stupid choice to argue with him, as everyone seemed to want the game to end, and after getting abused by the duo ( taking my cs, flaming, spam pinging, afking) the game ended and we left, then i got the suspension.

Now i don’t think it was fully justified, but riot only cares about what i said and not the situation i was in, i understand that fully and it was my fault for flaming back.

What i don’t understand is, i’ve never had a warning, i JUST got the next checkpoint for my honor and was almost honor 4 (i think). I rarely ever talk in game, and i’ve played probably about 6000 - 6500 games and not once have i gotten anything that said “you’ve been reported you gotta chill buddy boi” and i average 1-2 honors a game, almost every time i log in, i get one of those honor messages, but somehow randomly after 1 game out of 6000ish i was defending myself, then riot chat bans me for 10 games? i don’t get it.

I don’t expect to get it lifted, but i hope riot gets better at punishing people that truly deserve it. Over probably the past month and half i’ve gotten

AFK’s after 10 mins and the game lasts til like 30

an unbelievable amount of racist people

people saying they want to gas me

people saying they want to mail me a bomb

people saying they want to kill my family

but i’ve gotten maybe one or two things saying they’ve been punished. I don’t think the punishment system works even close to how it should.

I don’t really know how the punishment will play out, i REALLY hope i don’t lose my rewards for the year / ranked stuff because of one petty argument that happened once, and i got a somewhat out of nowhere chat restriction.

Can someone tell me if that’s how it works? and if you’re supposed to get a warning / strike?
