Autofill creates a toxic environment.

Nunu here got autofilled support, and I further asked "why kha support". My Yi banned Kha to prevent him from trolling, then locks in Nunu with Ghost, Cleanse, states "nice job banning kha, have fun (:" and proceeds to intentionally feed my lane into oblivion.

Of course, not having autofill would make queue times longer, but sometimes I wish it wasn't in the game at all.

It's funny because nothing is going to happen to him.

This is a problem with that player's attitude.

If Autofill wasn't a thing, that player would've found something else to be mad at and do the same thing. Maybe it wouldn't have been this game. But it would've happened.

Oh, by the way, Kha is a perfectly valid support. His pick and actions seem to be caused because his champ was banned - not because he was autofilled.

But the autofill function is what triggered it to begin with, of course the fact that a fellow teammate banned his Kha'zix support didn't help the cause, but it's under the matter of fact that the system is the plot of the story here.

I'm not saying that playing Kha'zix support warrants said report, because it's his game and he gets to play how he wants, but running down the lane over and over because he didn't get what he want proves that the system can be a little "fucky" sometimes.

I disagree. The obvious and direct trigger was the banning of his champion. While yes, it is possible to argue that the indirect trigger was the selection of Kha (which triggered the banning of his champion), it is not appropriate and it is way too far a leap to say he picked Kha support because of Autofill.

In fact.. there's nothing in your image that even shows he's autofilled. I've queued with a friend as support before and he played Kha... does that mean he was autofilled? No. He just wanted to play Kha support.

While I get you're trying to find a fault with the system, you cannot blame Autofill for what happened, and in fact, while it is not prohibited to ban another players' champ, that is the root cause of this issue. The player would almost certainly have not picked Nunu and trolled if Yi did not ban his champ.

He said he was autofilled prior to this screenshot, I just wanted to make sure I got the picture in time before we loaded in.

My intention isn't to find a fault in the system, because I understand its purpose, but don't try and conclude that it was okay for him to run it down the lane with buying boots first item and ghost into the both of their bot lane carries.

This shows the entirety of the lobby from when you got into lobby to when you took the screenshot. If he said it prior to the screenshot, it would've shown up here. There are two things going on - you're misremembering to bolster your opinion, or he said it after the screenshot.

Given your leaps of logic, I feel that you are trying very hard to blame Autofill for this - and it's only natural to try and do so, because while you can control banning a champ, you can't control autofill, and moreso Riot can control Autofill thus it allows you to blame not yourself, not another player, but Riot themselves for a loss. This is a normal psychological thing, and it appears almost certain that's what's happening here.

Oh, I meant AFTER the screenshot. My bad, English is my 3rd language so I get my terms mixed up.

Chermorg2 votes

I getcha, but I still think that you're taking a way too big leap of logic in saying that autofill led to him selecting Kha. While I won't deny that sometimes Autofill makes players take off-meta champs, that doesn't mean they're going to troll, and Kha isn't a nonviable support at all.

Well, thank you for time and discussion, you make valid points here and my intention is to not come off as hostile, but share you my point of view.

Just know that I've stated before that I didn't have a problem with him playing Kha support. I was perfectly fine with it, but you just seem to think that I believe otherwise.

So by your standards, what would not qualify as a "perfectly valid support"?

Chermorg1 votes

Any support that has absolutely no potential to support.

No such champion exists yet.

So what is the point of claiming that kha is a perfectly valid support... if there's literally no champs that don't fit that criteria to you?

Chermorg1 votes

The point is that any current champion has some utility as a support. Just because your teammates are not able to see the nuances of it does not mean it doesn't exist.

I can tell you from experience that there are actually plenty of invalid champs to support with. But you're not speaking from experience, you're speaking from agenda. What you say is there's no non-valid supports, but what you MEAN is that you should not focus on what other players are doing and just focus on yourself. But all the riot mod's have to play foot soldier to this "nothing another player does warrants a negative attitude" agenda. It is kinda funny to see its consistency though lol.

I've literally had a Yi support help me completely dominate lane (when i was ADC) against a duo queue'd lane that was two ranked tiers higher than me (and that duo looked to always duo).

There is no agenda. There are simply no current champions whose utility as a support is nonexistant. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it exists.

There's a huge difference between being able to win bot lane, and actually providing usefulness as a support, especially in very low elo. Those games have much more to do with who stepped out of position first, and who recognized that they'd fucked it up first, than any kind of legitimate laning tactics.

Chermorg1 votes

Just because they don't meet your usefulness as a support does not mean they are not useful as a support.

All that means is you're too narrow minded.

I guess if by "my usefulness" you mean playing with and against players who have a decent grasp of how to lane, then yes, they don't. Not sure how that applies to my mind however.

Simple, You see yourself as far above your teammates..You see yourself as a "Platinum/challenger/master teir" player. So you expect your team to play at the same skill level you see yourself at. When they dont "perform" at the skill level you expect, or dont immediately jump through the hoops YOU lay out for them, You immediately seek to have them banned. They dont play What you want They dont play how you want They dont go where you want, when you want Therefore they dont meet your usefullness. You want them banned for having individual thought thier own personal playstyles thier own strategies thier own strengths and weaknesses.

Any of this clearing up the confusion for you? You dont want teammates, you want for clones of yourself, or how you see yourself.

Rofl what? Bro you're projecting on me lol. You just jumped to a whole mess of conclusions. But as you move up the ladder playstyles start to narrow, because there is an optimal way to play this game. It may be irrelevant to people down in the bottom, but you don't troll good players and expect to win. And I think playing real shit down there is a good practice towards improvement as well. If none of that is important to you, well then perhaps you should stick to normals, the purpose of ranked is to want to win.

The problem is because of this "Cult of Meta" where people arent ALLOWED to play any champ that isnt expressly approved of By LCS "pros" and added to the meta "bible", so if it isnt advocated by any LCS or outside meta. it is instantly deemed a "troll" I refer to the meta attitude as a cult because anyone who doesnt follow the "current meta" with religous zeal is beaten over the head with it, and burned at the stake, labeled a troll, and harrassed/greifed untill they are banned. Basically the attitude in ranked is "Unless the pros do it, You arent even allowed to concieve of it" I used to play a devestating Vel'koz support (My Geometry is OP!) and when it first game out I was labeled a "Troll" every single time. Even these days when I play it, because it isnt "current meta" it is trolling by default. This is why I hate the concept of "meta" Everyone has thier own play style, Thier own strategy. Just because it isnt written into the LCS Bible and made "official meta" doesnt mean that it is automatically trolling. I refuse to play meta, I have my own mind, my own strategy, my own playstyle. So my teams burn me at the stake for prefering to think for myself rather than blindly letting the "meta" do the thinking for me.

Aaaaaand he doesn't get a single punishment at all. Instead we report u for being "Toxic to the player who just had a bad game" -Riot makes sense doesn't it? xD

I played Soraka, killed a few minions (still had 1 cs at the time tho), then my adc proceeds to flame, and intentionally feed but we still won lmao. I play adc too but I don't flame and int if my support takes a couple minions.

HavokDash1 votes

yeah I had a game as soraka where My adc saw I had a whole 3cs (OMG such a horrible troll), so draven (adc) throws a tantrum, quits the match (not fully disconnects tho) and spends the entire match degrading and insulting me telling me how much of a "trash adc" I am because I was now forced to try and solo defend bot lane against a 1v2 Opposing lane (Plus enemy jungler) while draven was busy having his little bruised ego temper tantrum in the spawn. And People wonder why I refer to the league community as children/toddlers/preschoolers. Thats how they act. The moment they dont get thier way, dont get what THEY want, team wont cater to THEIR inflated ego. They drop to the ground kicking and screaming, throwing the biggest possible tantrum while screaming for sympathy in /all chat "OMG Plz report this troll/trash >insert role<" "I cant carry this trash team, my ______ is trolling me hard!" oh poor me, waaaa waa waaa.

Almost Creative1 votes

This reminds me of the "mid or troll" thing before the new draft mode if someone didn't get their role. So autofill kinda enables more trolls with people holding champ select hostage until they get their way. And btw, did you or someone else dodge?

KillerShim1 votes

no, i'm not going to break the rules because someone decided to troll.

Ðreamdate1 votes

I agree autofill has increased the toxic level of the game - i get same thing in my games... when i get autofilled, I dread the next 15-45m of my life cause usually forced to support where i feel useless. It is not my playstyle to play that role, so dont know why they force players into roles they are not good at. Like i play jung/mid/top that is enough to learn and be proficient. I wouldnt mind there was an option to autofill like a checkbox

YerroFever1 votes

So being autofilled isn't necessarily a problem, you just do the best you can do with the situation. When you ban your allies champs, you're trying to tilt them from the start.

I think the ban was the problem, not the autofill.

Skullgetti1 votes

Yeah, seems like you weren't around when they still had teambuilder huh?
