I watched it happen in real time.

Some guy was screaming at me all game, calling me shit-tier garbage cancer trash for most of a match for being hyperfocused and trying to support an entire overspecialized team in every fight, in every situation at all times no matter what my current situation was. Reported him after the game, and because supports are almost extinct in this game and the block/mute system doesn't seem to function, I got put in another game with him (he didn't seem to realize I was the same support as last game).

After that game, I get the notification that a player has been punished. I sit in the lobby for a few minutes and note that he did not come into the lobby at any point, and based on his match history, he has not played a single game since.

The report system works. I witnessed it work in real time, and it only took one. Don't let anyone try to lie to you that it doesn't.

Sure it works against flamers and racists and homophobes but where's the evidence it works against inters and trolls?

We know it does, just since people have games where they report and said people aren't immediately punished, people say it doesn't.

So instead of muting this said player, you decided (DECIDED) to let him flame you just so you could see his account banned? This sounds like a personal problem buddy, I dont think you should be enjoying a flame session.

I reported someone in my game for telling me "kys" and a bit of other toxicity two days ago. I checked their op.gg today and guess what? They are still playing games just fine. And here I thought that telling ppl kys was a zero tolerance offense. People say that the report system doesn't work because, through live observation, many ppl have realised that less than 1% of the times they have reported someone have had any effect.

All you saw was one instance. Trust me for everything else it should be handling its either slow af or it doesn't happen. Someone posted a profile of someone who trolled 48 games and didn't get punished.

i think the chat system is almost perfect. the fact that i just cant stand about is that riot doesnt give us an option. i ALWAYS want to see a notification if my report got a player punished within the last 24 hours. but right now its like a 1% chance that i get that notification.

and that sucks. i feel like my reports do nothing. i want to see it! its literally a great system riot has (for chat), but they dont let us see it. its such a rare chance. its literally riot that makes players think their reports are useless and they are helpless. literally riot themselfes do this. which i just dont understand.

No one denies that it works for stuff people say in chat. What people complain about is that it is utterly useless for trolling and inting, and can't even catch the blatantly obvious stuff.
