that way if someone wants to have a serious discussion. they can delete derailing or snarky comments without having to rely on a mod to take thier report seriously or if someone doesnt want a particular person commenting regardless of what theyre saying. they can.
While some people might be able to handle that kind of power appropriately, many (and probably most) would just delete the comments of anyone that disagrees with them. The boards are a place for discussion, and this wouldn't be conducive to that in the slightest. I already know of people that simply delete and repost the entire thread every time it doesn't immediately get upvotes and 100% agreement.
But it would also make it easy for those players to just delete something truthful that they just don't like (like a "why did I get banned....what I said wasn't that bad" thread).
i feel like riot both on the boards needs to either A. be more aggressive in dealing with players both in game and on the boards who are doing things just to annoy and be obnoxious "AKA trolls." but in a way that is avoiding punishment such as being sarcastic and passive aggressive but not directly insulting. or throwing games without directly feeding. or B. give players better tools to deal with them. without having to rely on the report button. and "it might get abused" isnt a reason not to try. you don't take guns away from the entire population because people want to be criminals
