The guy was playing a champion for the first time and had 15 deaths in 10 minutes. TBH it looked more like he was int feeding.. so yeah Im gonna get pissed. And this is out of context.. this specific guy was talking shit on everyone the whole game while getting killed standing doing nothing in fights... Where is his report?

Why is there a case agasint me at all.. the Guy was a troll and I got mad.. so What I play hundreds of games and get reported Once for yelling at a troll and 2 other times for trying to explain know game strategies to new players? Like I really don't know what is re-portable on any of these at all. People say and do much worst than this and for no reason .. I was provoked into talking crap.. Someone from riot should really consider looking into the people that false reported me here.

If you can get reported for talking strategy.. then why i there even a chat in the game

No excuse for this.. I hate toxic people too the people who reported over reacted or filed false reports.. Probably filed them on everyone because they knew they were getting reported themselves.

Like literally I had so many kills and objectives don in lane that a player on the other team quit.. And Our int feeder top fed everyone and troll let them win a 4v5.. That would piss off anyone.. And most everyone was pissed and asking him to not be an asshole troll.

Be more specific about these lines and why you would ever report someone for them pls.. I mean most of what you posted I was commenting about my own game-play mistakes.. I always self shame so that people know I know when I did something wrong and are less likely to get tilt if they are good, or know I was the cause and they did nothing wrong when they are new.. like this case.

And as for talking crap to the troll .. I mean I remember this game very specifically this guy was shaming me for not doing damage in fights as adc.. When I literally couldn't help them without the peel I .. Had to wait for them to waste their abilities.. And our gangplank was sitting back behind everyone shooting his Q and then somehow just wlking into azir damage and dying (aka inting).. ""

You gotta realize that my support had said they were new int he start of the game... And they were playing very stupid and horrible, but I didnt shame them.. Instead I helped them out and gave them advice. While the specific person who reported me and told everyone else to report me in lobby with some Bullshit lie about how I was flaming and toxic all game... Was literally being a toxic shithead to every single person on our team but the other player who was probably troll feeding too.. So like.. there is no reason or excuse or validation to this guys reporting me whatsoever. None.. this report shouldnt be here.

He was INT FEEDING AND TROLLING and talking shit on EVERYONE including me, and more specifically brutally insulting our support who was brand new to ranked. Of course Im going to respond to him. It was him and the people in post game on the other team who he got to report me. That or he was with the Other possible troll midlaner.

I really cant see anyone else from our game reporting me other than him. And Ill admit I said my God these people in all chat.. But they should have known damn well enough who I was referring to and why. Between the obvious int feed GP and the AFK Sona on their team + other questionable people.. I made their support rage quit in the first 10 minutes of the game.. And this gangplank was literally walking into lanes and giving people kills.

And ordering my teammates around... The fkin support asked me what they should be doing in the start of the game, and the jungler asked me at one point who he needed to lock down.. So you drawing this conclusion about me being some bissy prick is completely out of context and precisely the reason why robots shouldn't be reviewing reports. You cant just take soundbites from one person in a conversation and pretend to have any context or understanding of why or what they were talking about...

Also original Quotation I said "Pathetic and SMH". Im pretty sure I said that when I choked on a double kill because I AIRBALL shot an ashe arrow past a 20 health sona. That was the self shaming I was referring to. I say pathetic nearly every-time I make a stupid mistake..

And as for me saying GROUP.. tHE ENEMY support rage quit and my teammates were dying the second they got into a lane.. I assume everyone is just bad before flaing them for being a troll so I suggested we group so I could help them.. But they didnt want help because feeding was exactly what they were doing.

The nexus towers were being taken down and I was the only one alive with 4 of them sitting at the nexus towers while all those comments transpired.. The game was over at that point, so him trolling or not trolling was irrelevant at that point.. the game was over. he deserved to get backlash from me for the things he was saying to every person on the team..

If you had an int feeder and he was talking shit on you.. Im sure you would respond to them too and if not..ur brainwashed by this community into thinking you dont have the right to defend yourself.. Because you should stand up to bullies. If more people did, and they started banning the correct people this game would be a whole lot less toxic.

I mean the game automatically has chat filter enabled so disabling it means you want to say and see curse words that people write, and thereby shouldn't be offended by the language. Unless someone is targeting you and hate speaking you out, which I defiantly wasn't there (I mean perfect example of how robots cannot distinguish context).

The person writing things normally doesn't, no. And the individual statements each taken alone might be only borderline. But you're still being consistently negative, consistently insulting, and consistently rude to your teammates, which all adds up in combination. When your chat is partially game conversation and partially negativity, it still skews towards the negative. When most of that negativity is directed at other players, it skews into toxicity.

I'm personally pretty thick-skinned in games, for example, and I know I'd have still reported you. Not because I'm personally offended, but because your logs create an environment that I wouldn't be happy playing in. It's EASY to ignore, but the fact that I HAVE to bother to ignore it means that something is wrong with how you are behaving in game. I'd DEFINITELY report you if I saw you engaging with ANOTHER player in that fashion.

And, in fairness, if you were being provoked I'd definitely report your provocateur as well. But being provoked does not justify your response.

There is literally NO context in which that is acceptable in League. Riot has been VERY clear on that front. Not sarcasm, not overreacting...heck, it's not even really considered acceptable to use that language to even say something like "report X -- he called my [word here]."

So the chat filter argument is a common one. You're thinking about it the wrong way though -- it doesn't exist so players can use whatever language they want however they want.

It exists so players who don't want to encounter ANY profanity can avoid it. Some people, believe it or not, are uncomfortable with casual use of profanity, and can thus opt to avoid it. Its existence, however, does NOT justify use of derogatory language, or the use of profanity to insult other players. Again, Riot has been pretty clear on this front.

There's a difference between "fighting fire with fire" and "standing up for justice against deplorable acts"; one does not prerequisite the other.

The former just puts you on the same level as the ones you despise. And Riot knows a lot of kids on league / online don't know how to handle themselves when presented with toxicity/griefing/harassment.

By responding to harassment/toxicity (in League), you only are creating more of the negativity -- either passively (by engaging in argument with said wrongdoer), or actively, by responding in the same type of tone and language and negative behavior they are exhibiting in the first place.

It's a lose/lose for everyone, especially you.

Sure. And I've seen a ton get more toxic as a result. It's sort of a toss-up, and, frankly, our different anecdotal evidence doesn't really apply to the situation. It's an interesting discussion, certainly, but it's not going to change anything.

Riot has said, pretty clearly, "don't retaliate, don't escalate." Their stance on that has been influenced by community opinion over the years, and, most importantly, they're really the arbiter here. Nothing you or I say will change Riot's stance, so, ultimately, you either need to adjust your behavior to comply, or accept that you run the risk of punishment.

Because there are other games that are not as toxic you get mad because a game that is worse tries to do something about it? That seems extremely contradictory to me. The same thing goes for this:

as for the censorship part: riot games is privately owned so them kicking you out of their game is like a home owner kicking a person out because they were insulting the homeowner's family. They have the full right to do so and they think that it makes their game better if people at least know toxic people are being fought. This is what riot did, kicking you out for being rude to fellow people in their house.

Freedom of speech is being able to say what you want about your country, political state and other subjects. It is not being shielded from all consequences. If you are getting kicked out of a club because you insulted your teammates you have no chance of getting back in there because you are "free to say it" and the same thing goes for riot games.

They stand in the right to do this and feel that removing toxic players like you is a step toward bettering the community.

I am not arguing that the system works(it doesn't in many situations). I am not arguing this system is being too harsh sometimes(this is a matter of opinion). I am not even arguing that dealing with toxic players can be done better(it probably can be done better).

I am however arguing that you are in the wrong if you think this constitutes calling other people brainwashed because they disagree with you on how riot games system works.

tldr;

You broke the rules, you were extremely toxic and you ruined the game for enough people that they reported you are responsible for breaking the rules you agreed to when you start playing this game. They pointed this out and they explained why you are banned and why they agree to you being banned. You are responsible for you. Your own words and actions, no one else's.

I was taught in school to stand up to bullies. Being gay I had a few to deal with over the years.

I particularly remember one time when someone in Gym class Shoved me from behind into a wall when we were running around and said "Do something fa888t bi642h". I was already hurt so had nothing to lose at that point and started wailing on the asshole, and put his ass down hard. You know what happened after that. Word spread around pretty fast that I was some kind of brawler, and noone talked crap about me or anyone I was around anymore for the rest of High-school. So whatever your taught must be wrong. The reality is peopel stand up to bullies and the bullies end up getting fcked up or fcking the person up, and that means lawsuit for the school.. They teach you how to not get them a lawsuit, not how to solve problems..

This isn't pre-school, this is the real world. In the real world, people don't "wail on each other" when someone says something nasty/mean/hateful to another -- key part here coming up -- even if they "morally deserve it". Violence does not beget violence; that's an outdated mode of behavior and way of thinking better left in humanity's dark past. It has no place in modern society or intellectually, morally enlightened people -- which we should all strive to be.

There are different, better ways to handle those who are mentally or emotionally immature like bullies etc; and we have laws against those who would harass or harm others for a reason.

I'm almost 30 years old and a gay man who has put up with peoples ignorant shit my whole life. Nilla Please.. If you have something to say then say it, letting things brew and stew (especially when you play as much as I have) is just as unhealthy. Im actually surprised I haven't started int feeding myself for as much crap as I have seen and dealt with in this game.

And ya know I say alot more things than what I was reported for here.. Most of the time people get the point and stop being dicks when I speak up.. So again ur wrong. Being 30 has nothing to do with emotional maturity. You've clearly exhibited -- not only through these chat logs, but with your unwillingness to be open to correction and criticism of what landed you here in the first place -- a great lack thereof.

Trolling the trollers only makes you a troll and everyone around you suffers. Nothing is gained from responding in the same form of negative verbal harassment (or worse) and everything is lost, because you are participating with other people besides yourself in an online community, which is dictated by a certain set of rules and guidelines.

League chat doesn't care what color your skin is, or your sexual orientation, or your upbringing, or religion, or "social class", or where you were born, or where you live, or how much money you make or don't make, or how you feel, or what you believe in or don't believe in, or any of that.

None of that matters. What matters is you agreed to abide by the rules Riot set in place on how to conduct yourself with/around other players, period.

This isn't some morality battleground; this isn't some grandeur fight for justice (unless you're garen irl); this isn't a poetry slam sesh at your local speakeasy where you drunkenly recite a speech about freedom and liberty from oppression;

This is a video game, and in this video game there's one all important rule: don't be toxic, don't use hate speech, don't harass others, don't grief against others, don't be a troll, and overall just be a decent, respectful human being to others, even if someone isn't to you.

Both of you can/will get punished, not just one or the other. You are held responsible for your own behavior; there are consequences to your actions and here you just faced one of them. I suggest you take what everyone here is telling you to heart, and try to learn from this mistake so you don't end up losing your account altogether.

I think you're confusing "defending yourself" with "retaliating". You do not prevent this person from behaving like an asshole by insulting them. If anything, you encourage it.

And "standing up to bullies"? That's what the reporting feature is for. If this person was harassing someone else in the game, what you should have said was something along the lines of;

"Just mute him, don't listen to his insults"

What is the point of "standing up" to the jerk in chat when you're unlikely to ever see the asshole again? What have you changed? All you've done is created more of a shitstorm in chat.

Please, point out where I defended them. I'm saying if this other person was being an asshole, they deserve whatever reports are sent their way. But you being an asshole in retaliation doesn't make you any less subject to the rules of the game. This isn't a winner-loser system where if one person is punished that must mean the person that they were arguing with gets out scottfree. All players of the game are responsible for their own behavior.

This is all belittling, insulting, or antagonizing your team. Definitely reportable. It doesn't matter how bad you think your team is (or your team ACTUALLY is) -- you aren't entitled to insult them or talk down to them.

Like others have said, it was your behavior alone that got you punished here, not theirs. They'll have their own cases if they consistently act up and get valid reported for it. From Understanding the Tribunal:

Reacting to a toxic player by being toxic just incites that player to be even worse--it also ruins the game for up to 8 other players. True the IFS handles most cases now but there are also the occasional manual reviews for the more severe and/or edge cases. As for human nature, Riot fully understands that nobody's perfect, which is why they give people multiple chances before removing them from the game. They also understand that they'll never be able to fully remove toxicity from the game, which again is why they give people multiple chances before removing them from the game.

P.S. The snippet I posted above from Understanding the Tribunal is still relevant today. In case you don't believe me here's a snippet from the Instant Feedback System FAQ support page:

WHY WAS I PUNISHED WHEN THE OTHER PERSON WAS WORSE OR STARTED IT!

  • Simply speaking, retaliation is not an acceptable or justifiable behavior. An argument between two players can easily create a negative experience for the rest of the players in the game with you. Regardless of the other player’s actions, this does not justify your own behavior. You alone are responsible for your actions within the game.If you encounter a toxic player like this, the best option is to simply report their behavior and move on.
  • Reports are a vital piece to the puzzle. If you are not sure of what sort of behavior is reportable take a look at the Reporting a Player FAQ
