My Unpopular View of Retaliation in League [Long Story Mode]
> Firstly if you are not going to read all of this, just don't read it at all, don't comment or vote please. I would like genuine feedback on the community thoughts. > This past week has been a difficult one for me. I got one of my many accounts past placements only to be placed in Silver 1 (which is fine). As many of you may know I am a past permabanned played. Who has reformed and I have a couple accounts which have no signs of toxicity on it granted when I do play here and there.
After going through my placements, my 2nd game in I received an intentionally feeder. No problem on my road to recovery I've had to endure many of these. The past 20 games or so though the toxicity seems to be ramping up and up. It's starting to get on my nerves.
For the first time in months, I said something toxic to another player in game. I fear that I am falling back into my inevitable toxic self.
I said to the player "I think this guy has some serious mental health issues" and later said "report this loser"
This is toxic behavior, no doubt. However unlike chat logs where you get only the one side of the coin. I'll tell you why I have this unpopular view that may be wrong but what justified me saying those things in the first place.
We were playing a game, winning 19-4. Something ridiculous like that. The game was in hand, all of us were fed. Just finished taking inhib farthest from Baron and headed back to do Dragon. Me and another player decided to 2 man Dragon, While our Jungler (fiddlesticks) was doing red. We pinged it, but he continued to do red.
Nobody was toxic at all, at any point this game. Seemed like a pretty clear cut win. However pre game we were all talking about how long we've played League for. Fiddlesticks mentioned this is one of his 4 smurfs and he's been playing since season 1. I believe this because the account he was playing on was named after Fiddlesticks and a Fiddlestick only account.
No problem right.
Wrong.
At the Dragon pit, the other enemy team shows up, we get caught out and die. our top Tp's in, dies, and same with our mid laner. Fiddles at this point begins raging at us. He Ults into the pit and immediately dies even though he was standing there typing trash to us while we were dying.
Overall this wasn't a big issue we were still MASSIVELY ahead in the game and if we groups there would be very slight chance the other team could beat us. Nobody had an issue with us obviously making a mistake during the game.
Fiddles however goes "you guys sucks I'm afk, enjoy your loss <3 "
He goes AFK and using his Flash and running around in the fountain. He kept talking trash to us while in base, and the game started to turn around.
This is where I said those lines above.
Now I know the white knights here will come running to point out the fact I was toxic and I deserve punishment ( I didn't get a chat restriction from that game) However me and my top laner had a conversation post game after our loss (we lost that game fiddles only came back to ult while we were aced and our nexus was dying) I found out that the reason I was toxic is not because I am a toxic player. It's because I do not trust this system to make things right.
I'll be honest, I abused Fiddles post game and he was admittedly telling me to fuck off, and enjoy my 2 week ban etc etc..
My top laner was asking why am I abusing him and not just reporting and letting him go, and after he(fiddles) left we went into great lengths about this. After giving him my reasoning my top laner actually agreed with my views and hoped I we both had better luck in our future games.
**This was my reasoning **
: Fiddles after that fight decided he had eternal power over us. He could abuse us(troll) without repercussion and if we said anything back to him it was "enjoy our 2 week ban", ultimately though he could troll the game, walk around in lanes without anyone there and be farming jg while our base died and be seen as "just a bad player"
The reason why I abused Fiddles is because I'm giving him the punishment Riot won't. I checked Fiddles account and seen there was many games where he was obviously doing this, 7-0-9 Fiddlesticks team up 20 kills._ Loss _check the details and he was trolling end of games.
Riot failed to give this player his punishment and ultimately he's happy getting away with it. It was obvious to me this guy had some issues, so I poked at them. I made him mad post game, and while I didn't get a chat restriction, I certainly got closer to one. What I also did though was I put this player into a negative attitude and showing him. I do not agree with what he did and I'm going to show him my discontent.
There was zero reason for Fiddles to up and AFK that game, there was NO reason for him to up and start abusive his entire team.
I"m looking at this player right now. He's in another game. I'll spectate it and let you guys know shortly if his behavior changed at all, but if there's one things certain.
Riot certainly didn't do anything to show him or us, they cared.
