Just played with a Rioter who used the ? ping in unintended ways

He even pinged ? when I was doing wraiths to heal up to full, then when I teleport to the enemy's bare ass nexus and backdoor it somehow for some strange reason the ? pings stopped.

I'll be honest. I'm fine if my friends do it, but if I don't know you, then it's pretty toxic to deal with. Especially when I get a large amount of them in a short time.

So is Riot going to change the name of the ping from "Enemies missing" to "passive-aggressive way of telling you I didn't like that play"?

If you are okay with friends doing it, but not strangers, it doesn't look that toxic to me

would you go up to a stranger in the street and tell them "you're being an idiot"? or "fuck you?"

this is League of Legends. everyone I play with in solo queue is a stranger. and unless I'm playing with an LCS player's smurf, I'm not going to tolerate ? spam for very long.

I'm not making a big deal out of the ? spam because its a Rioter. I'm making a big deal out of the fact that the original purpose of the ? ping has been so warped that it no longer really means its original intentions, and has been warped to such a degree that even Rioters have stopped using them for their original purpose.

it just so happens that the next best use is the "wtf are you doing" ping

Really? Its okay if friends do it, but not strangers? Toxicity breeds toxicity. I'm not saying its alright to ping spam people, quite the countrary, but i think you might be overreacting. Just say please stop, and if they dont report them for negative attitude. I'm not sure if it counts anymore with the changes to the report system, but some time back i read you COULD actually report people for ping spamming.

yeah im ok with with people I know doing it. for example, with friends, if you tell them in colloquial conversation "fuck you", you don't actually intend to fuck them nor do you mean any actual malice towards them (not usually, anyway.)

now, if you walk up to a stranger in the street and tell them "fuck you", you're at least getting a "fuck you" back.

similarly, if friends are screwing with each other, they might ping ? to each other over minor shit. (even stuff that isn't a misplay!)

and when people do it in league that I don't know, I realize that they're being passive aggressive little dipshits.

I really hate how I see '?' being used more to harass other players during a fight than to actually indicate enemy missing.

Report the Rioter if you feel they were harassing you, in addition I do think that having double standards is pointless in this game. My friends can do it..... justifying a toxic behavior is not good

I just hate that people don´t understand that loud incessant ping is very distracting and makes it hard to think and make right calls, yet they do it WHILE YOU ARE IN COMBAT. Seriously, who does that?

Now, in my case it's because I am playing Singed in silver, and my team doesn't understand that I knowingly keep pushing a sidelane while my opponents are starting to converge on my location to waste their time and have my team do something (other than nothing, and pingspamming me)

sees enemy alone in jungle Pings ? Team tells me there IS someone there I kill the enemy because Mordekaiser es numero uno I ask them what they are talking about, reassuring that noone is there
