a letter to all the "for fun" players in ranked

im not trying to sound rude. but if you are playing casually and play off meta picks just because you can.. and your goal isnt to reach challenger. you should be playing normals. by not playing the game seriously. you punish the players who lose games not because they are unskilled. but are unable to carry you if your teemo ADC isnt working. you open yourself up to flaming. which makes the game unfun for you. the flamer. and everyone on the team because now they not only have an unskilled/uncompetitive player, but now they have a flamer spending more time typing than playing.

also. people will see you as a troll. and report you. and even though false reports won't count. eventually you get a real report. and all the false ones end up triggering a review and you get banned/chat restricted

Wait - only people who are aiming for challenjour are allowed to play ranked now? And I am not allowed to play Vel'Koz support because it is not "in the meta"?

Oh dear, I did not even know I was not allowed to play ranked. I will proceed to uninstall, good sir, to make the way clear for your godly ascent to higher tiers. I am looking forward to seeing you in LCS soon.

Just because a person's goals don't align with yours, doesn't mean they have less of a right to play than you do. Having fun and being serious aren't mutually exclusive, either. I'm sure you have fun playing ranked, or else you wouldn't do it, right?

How about you focus more on how you're doing and work on improving your own play rather than worrying about what other people play for? If they get reported and punished for their behavior, that's their problem, not yours.

Teemo ADC can be good with an aggro support. And false reports won't add up to anything.

I was going to bash OP BUT he has a good point, he just used the wrong words... or to be precise, definition. Just as Lesvitesses said.

An off meta is a pick that isn't FOTM but is decent. Decent means a one trick pony can reach diamond or challenger. Yes. There are top lane teemo mains in diamond. I have no problems with off meta picks. What OP just described is a troll pick. A pick that, statistically, has NO REASON to be played because it will drag down your team.

"I'm going Sona as ADC! yayyy". The champion that has no AA enhancer .

Fiddlesticks - As an ADC too. Vayne - as a jungler.

It is like going into a gun fight and your teammate is using a BB gun. "Trust me it works!"

Is everyone free to play what they want? Sure. Just don't be a weight on some one you don't know and play a ranked match with four friends. There you can have all the fun a self expression you can have without collateral damage.

There's a difference between playing out of meta and troll picking. 90% of the time these people don't get their desired role and decides to troll pick. Has nothing to do with playing out of meta. Some things obviously don't work.

I'm a "For Fun" guy and I play damn near solely normals. Ranked just isn't fun...everyone's such a toxic asshole in my ELO and I can't be arsed to climb out of it. I'd rather fight golds in normals than climb to gold in ranked. Same challenge, more fun.
