I am unbanned!

Who is Taliyah··29 votes·6,100 views

I was recently banned for 14 days due to a missunderstanding (which the support also agreed on) Took 9 days to handle the situation but I am finally unbanned and my honor level is restored.

Thanks to the support that worked on my ticket with broken german. I appreciate that you communicated with me in a language you are not so familiar with.

Happy to hear the issue got resolved, but sad to hear that it took 9 days. I took note of your case and will use it as an example on our side for improvements.

I wish the spiteful champ pick wasn't there, but it still highlights an area that could use improvement.

THIS IS OFF TOPIC

Hello Riot Tantram, you look like smart guy i need help from an english rioter because rioters from my country and are czech are tragic and i dont know how to write to english rioter because even i send a english ticket same czech peple respond. Dont you know how to contact english side of riot with my problem ? Or can i write directly or chat with you somewhere?

iamthegoatofwar1 votes

I'm not a rioter, but allow me to try and comprehend a TL:DR version. Are you basically asking for help and support to send in english?

BenderoS1 votes

I am asking to directly write with any rioter so he can help me or send support ticket to english riot support not the ctech one which is country i live in, because even i write in english choosing eng/us i still got respond from rioters from my country.

iamthegoatofwar1 votes

For some reason I can't seem to even start trying write a mock ticket to look at settings. Something that MAYBE might work if you're trying to get rioters from america would be to make an NA account and then put a ticket in that way. I don't EXPECT it to work, but better than sitting on your ass doing nothing.

BenderoS1 votes

Altready did it about 4 hours ago still no response i hope it will work but its still in the same ticket center i send other tickets from and from toher accounts i mean my main account. Idk why are tickets from NA acount in same support as tickets from my main EU account it maybe depend on ip adress idk.

iamthegoatofwar2 votes

Dunno. Support here in NA can take well over a day to get back to you though. Not sure how it is for you guys. Anyway this is about the extent I can personally help at the moment good luck.

Can you be banned for spiteful champ pick? If so, what constitutes a spiteful champ pick?

Misern1 votes

Hello Riot Tantram. Could you possibly check the last Ban I got? Looking back at it now, it seems slighty unjustified to result in a perm-ban.

Regards, Misern

i got 14 days too for doing the right thing and playing the game to win during a ranked game while the the troll on my team got away scott free, but because i called him a "fucking %%%got" i get 14 days of not being able to play. makes so much fucking sense even when my entire team with him being an exception was agreeing with me. chat logs back it up.

HalcyonDweller5 votes

Your case is nothing like the OP's case. Do not compare the two.

You actively chose to use derogatory hate speech against another player, whereas the OP simply quoted somebody who was doing that and asking them why they would say it.

Context does not matter. There are more appropriate ways to express your displeasure with a person besides using hate speech. You should know better than to treat people like that regardless of the context.

If it's something you would not say openly in a public place in front of somebody who's respect you cherish, then it is not something you should say to another person over the internet.

Does not compute.

chat logs back it up.

Your chat logs prove that you should be banned. They were pretty horrible.

I've never been banned or suspended (mostly because if I rage I'll just yell at my cat or something, I'll never bother fueling a fire by typing in chat). However, I'm pretty curious about the process. If you're incredibly toxic in a game, but nobody reports you, are you still flagged? What if you play completely normally, but 9 people report you, are you flagged for that? Is there a system that'll flag you for using key-words, regardless of the context of them?

Just asking out of curiosity, I understand if you want to keep your ban system processing a secret so people can't find a way to abuse it

No.

No.

There are numerous detection modules in the IFS, one of which is responsible for detecting a small number of zero-tolerance things such as hate speech. This is the most naive of the modules, since it only looks for things which should never have a place in game. Think of the hate speech module as a first pass detection to easily detect obvious things.

Think*

Not trying to be a grammar Nazi. It just confused my slow self.

Zallamance2 votes

I see. I'm a bit confused on what the connotation is from the combined first two answers though.

So aside from set trigger words, a person can be a toxic as they want but with no reports, they will ultimately slide under the radar (which makes sense, as there are no reports to draw attention to said person).

However, if a person plays normally and receives 9 reports, how do they not get flagged?

I mean flagged as in the sense that it appears as a case to look at in someones inbox, not that they are punished

Jo0o3 votes

I think what Tantram is saying is that somebody getting 9 reports is no more flagged for review than somebody getting one report.

We've been consistently assured that multiple reports carry no more weight than single reports.

Zallamance1 votes

Hmm, I did not know this. However, from my brief research into this, it seems this was stated in the context that 1 report or 5 reports from an all pre-made group are weighed equally. Which would make sense. However, if nine individuals, all stranger to each other till the game started, 4 of which are on your own team, unanimously report said individual, wouldn't it make sense to put a review of the game under more scrutiny?

I've had friends who have reported Yasuo players just because they're tilted. And honestly, said reported Yasuo probably only got one report for that game. I'm sure there are many other games where a person just rages and decides to press the report button to make themselves feel better. Are these games put onto a lower priority than ones with higher reports on them?

Jo0o2 votes

From what Tantram has said in the past, if a player gets reported, their game gets reviewed. If not, then not. There's nothing more complicated at work there.

A 9x report can mean a lot of things. I doubt 9x would happen without somebody insisting that everybody report one person, which could simply mean that it was a witch hunt. And if something was so flagrantly against the rules that all nine other players reported it, then the usual report from a single person is gonna result in a punishment anyway.

Zallamance1 votes

Just asking questions out of curiosity, not trying to argue one thing or another; probing for the possibility of things being more complex, not trying to say your wrong in how simplified it is/could be.

Edit: I do appreciate you providing possible answers though, thank you.

nightmaresasuke1 votes

no thats not fucking true. my game didnt get reviewed at all, the chat logs got reviewed. which ive said before, i dont give a shit about my ban but ill gladly do the same shit over again because im tired of getting into ranked and having people ruin the game by doing their own thing. the game isnt getting reviewed only the fucking chat logs, which arent even reviewed by riot, they are reviewed by the same toxic community

Jo0o2 votes

Do the same shit, get the same ban.

You were reviewed and found wanting.

no, i wasnt reviewed, the chat logs were. evidently you cant comprehend basic English can you?

Jo0o3 votes

My comprehension of English has allowed me to play this game for years with never so much as a chat restriction. You can't say the same.

But hey, if randomly flaming me on the forums somehow helps you cope, then by all means keep doing it.

XerxesGodKing1 votes

from my own experience i do not agree that multiple reports wont help.

  1. i think riot says that in order to try to lower the cases of report calling.
  2. if i got punished in the past, it was always after people agreed on to report me (which was fair at that time). if i was equal toxic in other games and only 1 player reported me, i actually only got punished once

(got perm banned on 2 other accounts, mostly deserved, just the final second perm ban is kinda fishy... but whatever, its in the past)

Modi1 votes

If you are not reported by anyone, then your chat will not be scanned at all, even if you do use hate speech (still don't, it's not worth it).

again, nothing get you flagged in league of legends except using "hate speech" so again, riot caters to fucking snowflakes who get their feelings hurt over getting called a bad name. sure am glad i did my time in the military to fight for such people with such frail feelings. completely screwing someones rank progress over doesnt get you flagged at all yet trying to put someone in line by getting their attention with "hate speech" gets you banned LMAO what a joke. nothing makes me regret spending my money more than this shit.

This is interesting, given the fact that a simple punishment has tilted you beyond reason. If we all have such frail feelings, why are you the one getting so angry over a video game?

If you say nothing but do badly and people report you for verbal negative and feeding are you flagged?

Why does it seem you can be nice in 100 games and mess up in 3 yet get punished for the fact that you got mad in three games even if its pretty mild?

Zallamance1 votes

I was not able to find anyone mocking you based on your rank in this thread, so I'm not to sure about what your complaint is about. Also, not a lot of league players go to forums on a regular basis, and even less of those individuals got to the LoL forums (Reddit seems to be the most popular one right now). On top of that, this thread falls under the category of Player Behaviour, one of the less scouted boards on a daily basis by the general public, and is a thread with only 20 upvotes, titled "I am unbanned!" and is 3 days old. I'm afraid very few players are going to see your comment and act on it in the way you specify.

If you do genuinely and honestly feel that a Rioter is is purposefully misconstruing what you are saying in order to attack your character, I would suggest submitting a ticket stating the details and providing links to when and where this has occurred.

HOWEVER, make sure you are level headed, review all the information to make sure that you aren't interpreting something in a wrong way, and only bother making a ticket as a last resort when the situation can't be resolved/is serious enough to warrant a second opinion from the company.

My outside perspective on this though, unbiased as I have no connection to you or Riot Tantram, is that you are very angry and voicing your opinion based on that anger, and that this situation is far from serious enough to warrant sending in a ticket; upon review of the situation based off of the ticket sent in, it would be too minor to warrant any action.
