Cowsepu's comment from discussion "Riot Korea just banned all of Cowsep's accounts"

With this recent cowsep incident, things are looking really bad for riot. It is one thing for random player to get wrongful treatment but riot song something that has a strong negative effect on career streamers and players.... How is compensation given?

It isn't far off to say if the high level streamers all left league it would result in a blow to riots bottom line and the community population.

In this situation it is looking like riot is solidly in the wrong and in this day and age companies don't fair very well getting caught with literal discriminatory action that affects one's life (in this case career).

If cowsep broke the TOU, then there will be no compensation.

Granted, I don't know a thing about Cowsep's drama with KR-Riot, so who am I to say anything.

There is nobody who knows the full story at this time except possibly someone at Riot KR. Until the full story comes out (i.e. reasoning behind bans) then it is improper to try and make conspiracy theories such as “discriminatory action” and “screw up hard”. For all we know there is a very legitimate reason behind the suspensions.

That being said, this has gained enough traction I would be surprised if Riot NA and Riot Central/HQ have not seen this and are pressuring KR into solving this issue. They may very well not make a public post - it is standard for them to communicate with the players, not the community, regarding a player’s suspensions. I hope that if he gets communications from Riot that he doesn’t alter them if he chooses to post them, as that’s really the only way we’re going to be able to get info on this - through cowsepu himself.

The thing is, Riot doesn't run League in Korea.

Each Riot hq has authority in their own regions. This allows for changes to be made for region specific cases (like Graves Cigar, or Vlad using black instead of red blood. And even region specific skins). Each one also has a the authority to do as they wish for their behavior system. Do keep in mind that Riot does give a limited permission for use of their intellectual property to be monetized by streamers/content creators. It could be a start of an ID ban as well.

I am not taking either Cowseps nor Riot KR's side as I do not know enough about the situation.

Same thing happened to Likkrit.

League is a dying game. Riot's "punishment" system has always been hilariously and tragically arbitrary.

The whole "ban/punishment" system has done nothing to improve the quality of Solo Q, and all it does is teach Toxic players to work around certain words and express their toxicity in other ways.
