Hey, toxic players who pretend that "freedom of speech allows me to insult you"

In France, 3 newspapers in the last few months have acted against the ignorant and hateful comments under their online articles and on their facebook pages, with 2 of them actually publishing a collection of the worst ones WITH VISIBLE USERNAMES. In Italy, ignorants from the two main populist parties keep insulting and threatening in an unbelievably sexist manner the head of the main house of the Parliament (Government's crap and deserves harsh criticism, but people attack her in particular because she's a woman), so she also decided to collect a few comments on Facebook and publish them with visible names.

So... do people truly know what "Freedom of Speech" under the U.S. constitution does?

No?

Freedom of Speech (and other articles such as Religion), the First Amendment, simply protects U.S. citizens and residents (legal or not) from any and all attempts at silencing (of any form) of ideas ("speech") on part of the government, the PUBLIC sector. The First Amendment does not extend to PRIVATE institutions. Private sectors can do (almost) whatever the fuck they want when it comes down to rules within the property, including speech, as long as it does not interfere with laws set in place. This applies for anything from large companies such as Riot to even your own personal household.

How is this evidence that freedom of speech does not include insults? This is just an example of a SJL politician doxxing people.

The head of the DFL party in Minnesota decided to label people who criticized her as 'racist white supremacists' and doxxed them, but specifically doxxed them in the official BLM hashtag for the State. You know, that group that assassinates cops and burns down stores and beats up white people for the crime of being white?

Honestly, you people need to learn the difference between being sexist and using the fact the a person is a woman as a method of insult and banter.

Don't feed and you won't get "flamed". Simple.

In government and public speech there's a completely different reason for why those people are allowed to express themselves. In a private game in what's essentially a sports club... it really doesn't equate.

In politics and press... expressing opinions both popular and unpopular have proven over thousands of years to be appropriate and necessary in order for opposing viewpoints to be heard, understood and accounted for in decisions that affect the entire country or world. Even the flamers... even the trolls. Even that evil piece of shit in their mom's basement. In the age of the internet... now all of that is visible. There shouldn't be naming and shaming associated with it. The media attempted to do that with Trump and it basically gave him a free 5 billion dollar ad budget and won him the election. It's wrong in league and it's probably wrong IRL. Let people voice their opinions and suffer the consequences. There's no need to give them a megaphone and a spotlight too.

currently there is huge press on the freedom of speech, like the certain kinds of speech are routinely excluded from the constitutional protection, i mean that they literally outlawed stuff like "hate speech". it is certainly not nice and the homebrew censorship like we have in the lol doesn't help either albeit it is not related to the freedom of speech per se

as for the newspapers, they easily can be sued for disclosing personal information or even for defamation, if they disclosed something which can allow the poster to be identified
