It is up to us to make this community better for everybody.

I think it is time that we consider the possibility that together we are failing to create an enjoyable community for everybody.

Think of the last 10 games you have played in.

How many times did you tell a teammate who gave up first blood "its ok, we'll make it back, just keep doing your best." How many times did you get a Baron stolen and said "No big, its not the end of the world, just stay calm and we'll make it through this." How many times did your teammates get to the verge of giving up, and you said 'I know we're behind, and I know its hard, but if we calm down, and play in a tactical manner, I think we can achieve victory together."

Are we as a community encouraging our fellow teammates to victory? Are we reminding them that every setback is not a defeat, but a chance to rise above it? Do they not know that belittling them and quoting their score, pinging their item choices, as well as every time they die, is counter productive to victory?

If we stay calm, and remind each other that we can succeed when we work together, I think that, more than just victory, we can create a nicer community together.

Won't happen as long as every reward in this game is revolved around "winning".

You know the picture. Who wants change? = Everyone. Who wants to change? = Nobody.

As long there's the internet, there'll always be despicable, sadistic, and flat out cruel people out there. And 7.5 billion of em. With the internet as their safeguard, they do what they will and as they please. Wishful thinking this post, but I do support it.

I told a Riven not to worry about feeding the enemy fizz two kills in the weekend. Unfortunately she then fed Nasus and got into a flame war with our jungler... [sg-soraka]

But yes, you're right. I wonder how many people who complain about always having toxic teammates contribute to that toxicity, or if NA is just that much more toxic than OCE (which I'd be surprised by considering how many pro player punishments we get handed out).

i'm not that supportive but I try to comment on teammates' deaths with stuff like "nice 1 for 3" stuff like that is what I would want to see when I die

Really, if everyone tried to be like Ivern League’s community would become perfect.

I mute all and say nothing. I focus only on myself. I am the common denominator in my matches. I am the only element that I can control. If I am to succeed, I must improve myself and not be bothered with investing my attention and energy and focus on strangers I've never before met and likely will never meet outside this game, not that we would even recognize one another.

In doing so, I am more capable of noticing my own mistakes without the generally unhelpful input from my allies and opponents.

When a game concludes, I may or may not honor a player. I may or may not congratulate a player. And I may simply just move on without a word.

Because everything you mention loses the game instantly due to snowballing.

Basically you should say: "No big, you just lost us the game", but US americans are not used to blunt truth like we Europeans, so they rather sugar coat everything.

I do it everytime, but you're entirely right. A lot of players are toxic or were driven to cynicism because of it, creating a less than stellar overall community.

ironically speaking from my two week banned account. i get the whole positive thing and honestly i try my best to be nice. but some people dont wanna hear u be nice and after enough flame its gonna get to anyone. i try my best to say wp gj and all that but i dont believe i forcing happiness (yes a pewdiepie reference) honestly i get that riot is tryna make their community nice but the actual force they do it with is kinda ridiculous. its so easy to get banned now even if ur positive most of the time. either now im not meant too talk and make friends with other people who play the game as its spam in chat or im meant to force positivity and be fake in the one place i feel comfortable to just relax and let out some of the stress of a heavy day. league of legends has become a bad office job for me and it kinda sucks and as i said with the new banning system i dont think im the only one. think about season 7 and pre where if u put a report through it would never work and when it rarely did you could get rewarded with a free skin. now u can put reports through as a joke and youre almost garentued to get the person banned. i mean i get that some people can be really bad and i get u have to be harsh but there are better ways this. i get that the honour system is there for this reason but what if u fall off the honor system? hell climbing onto it in the first place is so damn hard. this system isnt working. i see so many of my friends get banned and so many of my more petty reports actually go through. maybe its cos im a bit of a grinder becuase i got a lot of spare time and maybe i should just play less but its the silver elo bang outs like me which or the majority of the game and maybe its time we got an ear rather than just listening to the plats and above. and funnily enough the higher in rank u go the more toxic it seems to get but hey this is all just my opinion pay no heed to the bronzie noob noodles lel

literally me every game

makes no difference tho, they still get toxic, flame, or just give up and stay in base as enemies take our inhib tower and proceed to end the game. Just the other day I had a Kled be super positive for the first 10 minutes of the game or so, and then start spamming /ff and gave up till the end. The only thing anyone responds to is you getting a 1v5 penta and then proceed to take 4 towers in the time they're dead, saying things like this is a waste of time and I would know. Almost every game I'm positive, and it does absolutely nothing when my adc starts fighting with the top laner. It's been like this all season.

Kinda difficult to be positive with all the snowball around.
