Is Janna getting a visual update for her base form anytime soon?

All need some changes. I agree with what Riot did to Lulu and Janna's shields as a short-term solution to them turning glass cannons into cannon cannons, but they need some love.
Riot has stated that they're at the point where the technology and champion development can allow for less rudimentary champions and point at champions such as a Skarner and Trundle as viable candidates for reworks, but really it's the ward-bitch supports that should be at the top of that list. I've hated Janna, Lulu and co. for years because they seem like shortcuts to getting a high rank (and up to about low-to-mid diamond they are). I'd be a lot happier if these champions had more skill expression.
