This game's playerbase is making it basically unplayable at this point, my last 3 ranked matches were all lost to people RQ'ing or afking just to talk shit, and then one more in the norm I played. What the fuck is this company doing? I really hope this starts hurting them monetarily so they'll actually fix it.

In answer to your question, no.
the punishment (sadly) for going afk regardless is only an escalating leaverbuster, nothing more.
HOWEVER
if you can prove that they have done this repeatedly, then they have been known to actually punish them. but its an extremely rare occurrence because it takes a really long history of going afk for riot to actually do something.

flames every single death, farms lanes and doesn't attend a teamfight or try for an objective for the rest of the match, spams FF vote.
How do you get such a big head from winning an easy lane that you think you're so much better than the rest of the team even after you make a huge mistake like stepping on a completely unhidden trap?
