Is restarting my account a good idea?

I just got 5, 20 minute low priority games today on my main after leaving a match because I fell behind taking a phone call and my jungler cussed me off when I asked for help. And too go with that, I am on lvl 2 ban with 25 chat restriction (10 games left..woo) for getting upset with people bashing me. I'm temped to just start over so I can start fresh, but not having any of the champions and runes seems like it'll be tough to regain. Should I restart on a new account?

If you want to start fresh because of the risk of being banned, your new account will just end up with chat restrictions and possibly a ban too. It would be more effective to simply improve your behavior so you don't get this one banned.

If you're having issues responding to toxic players, just mute them immediately. You don't need to listen to it any more than you want, and if that's what they want to use chat for they don't need it; pings are sufficient for communication.

There's not much that can be done about your afk'ing other than to stop doing it. If you need to decline a phone call or tell them to call back later or just use a bluetooth headset to talk while playing, do that. Take steps to ensure nothing preventable will come up while you're in a match, whether it's rescheduling the activity or playing at a different time. If you continue to play without afk'ing your leaver status will diminish.

Starting on a new account isn't really going to accomplish anything.

The issue is your past behavior. If that behavior has changed then your account will passively return to good standing over time(and games). If not you are going to end up back in the same place.

set your chat scaling file to -150. DTN can explain how to do it. thank you btw nami. what that does is it makes chat invisible unless you choose to make it visible again. it makes it so you dont have to consciously /mute all every game. but you can still "pop in" to chat for the purposes of guaging the toxicity level of chat. also. if you feel like raging. instead of typing. ping spam the hell out of people. it may not be the best solution. but riot wont ban you for it at least not to my knowledge
