Too many times I have browsed some threads here and many people say "dont be a dick". However, people here have different views on being a dick. When I read the chat logs of people here talking about their punishment, I find it to be not dickish. Is it just that the community has a sensitive definition on being a dick? It seems like it with the RBSC, who believe that any bad word said to another person deserves punishment.

You're not talking to your family members. You're not talking to your friends with similar values. You're not talking to an employee. You're not talking to your boss.
Behave with the common civility you would with anyone you don't know but have no desire to offend.

"Invading" (aka. walking blindly into the enemy jungle at lvl 2 without vision or a clue where the enemy jungler is), feeding firstblood and double buff to the enemy toplaner, and them flaming your own toplaner for "not helping!"
Don't intentionally ruin the game with negative play, negative expressions or leaving the game.
Same phrase; different words.
The simplest way I would explain it is you're a dick when you're being inconsiderate.
It's honestly just one of those blanket insults that can have multiple meanings depending on context, but is usually meaningless.

This is the problem with the "don't be a dick" rule. What exactly is a dick? Who defines it?
Look no further than this thread with everyone having a different definition.
In short being a jerk is intentionally doing or saying anything that you know will just tick people off, usually along the lines of verbal abuse, intentional feeding/afking, gameplay trolling, things of that nature basically.
