How does leavebuster actually work when if you actually get back in the game?

Now, I understand I was gone for a while...The client froze on the loading screen and I couldn't kill it with task manager forcing me to restart the computer. Then windows 10 decides to be a dick and update for 10 freaking minutes...Finally I get into the game 15 minutes late. But by the end of it I am caught up in level, 10/11/9 KDA, 100CS (low I know but obviously because I was AFK so long) and only 2 items from full build even. We were even on the verge of a comback. And it was a 45 minute game so I was there for the last majority of it but that's still a leave!?

15 minutes is 1/3 of 45. Yes, you were technically there for the majority of the game, but even a 5 minute afk can be a Baron buff, a big turret push, major team fight, etc.

If you don't connect for the first three minutes, you get leaver. I believe any time after that for a period of five minutes is a leaver. Even if the game is 6 hours long

Damn, ive been denied my LP after I disconnected from a game that we ended up winning and thought it was bullshit, but that was only like 3-5 minutes. 15 minutes is a long ass time to be gone. I think its okay to leaverbuster someone gone that long regardless of the outcome and deny them the LP even if its won. I mean, if your team wasnt so good, it would be an obvious loss.

While it is unfair in your case, without this system, trolls who AFK could easily come back, collect their LP even if they get hard carried by their team while AFK.
