Hello, agao! A duo partner of mind thinks that I should challenge a recent punishment, and though I've accepted it following a conversation with Riot Support I suppose I owe it to her to try a little harder by letting the Boards take a look. If you want some context, I can provide some context. Tbh I'm pretty sure it's deserved. I did call someone stupid and antagonize a lot. A permaban is what a permaban is.

Two, actually! The concern though is whether I deserved punishment at all considering the direct harassment was almost nonexistent.

You seem like a very antagonistic teammate, which has been escalating your account's ban status up until what it is now.

While it's not the worst I've seen, people clearly don't want you in their games and have been reporting you left and right.

Once you get a tier 3 punishment (14 day ban) you're notified that the next negative behavior will result in a permanent ban.

This means ANY form of negative behavior, even those that normally wouldn't punish you.

Telling someone to shut the fuck up and saying you are going to int is negative enough. Also, continuing the conversation in a negative manner doesn't benefit your team, rather it sways you away from the game and more into a pointless argument. You could have easily muted the player but decided to continue.

Also mocking someone's possible ban throughout the game, asking for reports is unnecessary. 1 report takes the same effect as 2+ reports so there's no need to ask reports. I've had an account permabanned before and I don't agree with the rules of league but It is what it is. You gotta adapt to the game and how their punishments work cause if not you will have problems playing.

I...actually didn't know that. Then why are people constantly saying "report this person" in all chat?

For context, I wasn't threatening to "intentionally feed," just saying that I'm going to die a lot. The champ I was against could literally run behind my tower, kill me in three-four hits, then leave relatively unharmed lmao it happened a lot that game, and the Jungler I was directing that to refused to help me throughout the entire game after my second death.

Oh no, I ALWAYS submit a ticket to get a better understanding, because everytime there was a punishment it was because of some new interpretation that I didn't before understand. It went from harassing speech to casual jokes to saying n***a in general to calling out mistakes to antagonizing to now I'm finding out that it's punishable to call a troll a troll and to call a toxic player a toxic player; that last part I was told by Support.

Apparently Riot has a 0-tolerance policy for anything whatsoever that could in any possible way be perceived as "negative." Might as well just remove chat altogether tbh

You are correct they have no "leeway" for negativity of any kind - if it is frequent enough.

That is not a reason to remove chat from the 75%+ of players who use it properly - for team communication and to joke around.

The thing about that is, Riot has already made a statement (which I've seen peopel repeat during conversations involving this) akin to "If you can't communicate it through pings then it's not worth saying."

With that said, the Chat functionality exists virtually for it's own sake and nothing more. There's no reason for it to exist, but it does because why not?

I think you took the wrong message from that statement. While I don't have the exact quote, their policy is that it is fully possible to communicate without using text. It is the case, however, that there are many times something is easier to communicate through chat - or in fact impossible to communicate with pings. All necessary things are communicable with pings - but there are some things that aren't necessary but are still helpful that need chat.

There is, however, no way to say "let's send 2 players bot lane to distract them while the other three of us get baron". Now, that's not necessary to win. But discussing that strategy may very well help your team win a bit easier.

Likewise, it's not possible to make a joke in pings. And that's not necessary to win - but it's not abusive and there's no reason to not allow it.

Small forms of negativity don't warrant a punishment on its own (punishment tier 1 & 2), it's an accumulation of all these negative remarks that gets you punished, for example name calling your teammates once wouldn't get you punished, but repeat harassment on that player throughout the game will. As you go up the tier of punishment(tier 3-4), any form of negative behavior will get yourself banned.

Yeaaaa, I would say this one is deserved. Glad to see you've accepted it though, and this post isn't just a complaint. Also happy to see you posted all of the chat logs, not just some of them.

In the future, I would recommending just typing /mute all to avoid this, or if you are really inclined, /mute all then flame to your hearts content, then unmute everyone now that you've gotten it off your chest.

Can allies still see your chat if you mute them? Sometimes you gotta give some complex strats to get the job done

To my knowledge, as soon as you mute a player, you won't see their msgs and they won't see yours. However, everyone who is unmuted will still see them

Example me: /mute player 1, 2, 3 me: God I love biscuits Player 4: Me too Player 1 2 3: What are you talking about? Why are you saying "Me too" to no one?

I suggest confirming it in a game to be sure though. Just ask something like "Should Irelia be Nerfed?" after muting everyone, then unmute them and see if anyone responds

Makes sense. It's just that I'm constantly seeing people say "Muting all" then about five minutes later saying something followed by "I muted everyone already."

I'm gonna vote on the "lying" part because boy oh boy was I at the part of the Ranked ladder where trolls and indignant players are abundant.

umm... you muted people do not prevent them from seeing everything you type. It's not a 2-way mute unless they mute you of their own will as well.
