If the owners/stockholders see a chance to make significant income they will change this shit overnight. I mean they have already folded once then they decided to no longer permaban players from competitive tournaments. It was a good PR stunt and attracted a lot viewers to tune in and see "what will happen next" when perma banned players are allowed back into tournaments. It also gave riot a "poster boy" for trying to sell their player behavior system as a success.
tldr: They saw a chance for good publicity and a chance to make money so they changed their policies accordingly......aka... so much for that "permanent suspension from competitive play"

Many people who got banned invested sizeable sums into their accounts. Skins and such are only bought once however, and can then be used indefinitely. So, at a certain point, income from an account flattens out. Most people who get permanently banned won't quit the game. They will instead make new accounts and guess what they will do on those? Exactly: BUY NEW STUFF TO GET IT GOING AGAIN.
So if anything, from that eprspective, it would make all the sense in the world, to be more liberal when handing out permanent bans, ergo, your argument doesn't really fly.

This is a different decision entirely. Allowing skilled players who were toxic in the past, is indeed a PR stunt. However, even here, the accounts of said players were not re-instated.
So all in all, you are right in one sense: companies will do what they can to make money. However, not treating permanent account bans as permanent doesn't make them money.

I never said it would happen anytime soon.......but if they wanted a quick influx in cash or something down the line for w/e reason, they could always do a "buy your account back" or something.
They actually have been becoming VERY liberal with permabans over the years to be honest. They have a 4 step system now with the ability to skip tiers. Yet, "Back in the day" they had ......warning, 1 day ban, 3 day ban, 5 day ban, 7 day ban, 14 day ban, then a permaban. A few years ago they did chat restrictions and/or ranked restrictions over most time bans.
I do agree that for now permbanning people does make them money though. I was just pointing out tha,t all that needs to happen is a shift in the environment and companies will reverse policies asap XD

That is correct and will always be the way of things where money is involved. However, for the forseeable future, I do not see how an environmental change changing the policy on permanent account bans would go.

I was hit with a zero-to-permaban punishment and Riot later decided that whoever pulled the trigger on that was blatantly wrong.
If one believes that the case has been truly mis-handled or otherwise incorrectly punished, it is not unreasonable to make one's case through the support ticket system. I do agree that it is nonsense to argue the case on the boards..... though it may be confusing to new players given that this is the "Player behavior & moderation" board .

Also, make sure your proof contains your username in there somewhere or else it could be someone else's account. Like I said, you could definitely be correct, however I am curious to see if a permanent ban repeal happens this commonly/at all and I need legit proof to believe it.
