6 seasons later and we still dont have a afk/loss prevention system

title^

it might not happen often, but when it does such as the case in the game i just played

TWO leavers.

6 seasons riot and your player behavior team cant make a damn system that -instant 1 day bans leavers/afks -if further leaves/punishment occur it goes straight to a 1 week>2week>perm ban -prevents loss of mmr/series/lp in ranked and just mmr in normals and other Q's -gives everyone involved an update that the player who left said game was punished for the one day ban aswell as any further punishments

ITS NOT THAT HARD TO MAKE A LOSS PREVENTION SYSTEM THAT CANT BE ABUSED for those who abuse it there are harsh punishments in place

6 seasons of players needing (and some of wanting) a system to handle these types of players and you cant do it? yet you can do ranked teambuilder just fine

Leaving a game should not be punished any differently than how it is now. If I have a garbage ass team who are all flaming and I leave, I should not get banned for that by any means. However, if someone does leave, the remaining players should DEFINITELY be able to do something other than sit in base getting angry. I like how its done in other games where if there is an AFK for more than 10 minutes, the players are allowed to leave without consequence (because let's be real, ur not winning that 4v5).

LeaverBuster exists, and I believe they just tightened it up some. Just in the last couple weeks, there have been some people complaining about in-client warnings they get immediately after unintentional DCs cause them to leave the game. And this brings me to the exact reason that they can't ban on first offense. Yes, it sucks for the other players in the game if somebody has a power outage mid-game and can't get back on to finish. But things were completely out of that player's control and they don't deserve to be banned for that, even for just one day. The system needs to be built in such a way that it allows for these sorts of incidents, while catching the frequent repeat offenders. That's exactly how the system works now.

And loss prevention was never implemented as a means of compensating for leavers. It's there for when there's a systemic issue on their end causing disconnects, lag, crashes, etc.

Wow... so if your power goes out in one game, you would accept a 1 day ban? Your cat trips over the modem cable - one day ban... what's the time table on this? If I have two DC's in a week I'm banned for a week?

Don't know about you OP, but I've had my internet go out during a game... and got my warning, but it wasn't a consistent problem, so no worries. If I was 1 day banned because of that DC, I'd be spending that one day looking for another game to play.

I would definitely love to see some kind of safe to leave after someone is already afk. But the impact of a leave on your rank is insignificant. If you want to say people's peace of mind is worth making changes then ok, but its not going to change anything meaningful about where people rank.

It would be too abusable to give loss forgiveness. One person could be convinced (bribed) to leave if you're having a bad game and enable it. The only time it would be any amount of reasonable is if a player was disconnected from the start, but even then it's less of an issue with the game, and more the players. It's not Riot, your teammates, or the opposing team's fault, if shit happens and you get disconnected. Many times it's not your fault either, but it's safer to put the onus of a stable connection on the players themselves than anyone else.

Its kind of scary honestly if you like LoL. Things like this are what makes players leave, never to return. Honestly, all theyd have to do is make some change for ranked queues only, and it would show they actually care about this issue. But you know, im sure their time is better spent making more skins to sell.
