Can a few options to disable certain features be added?

I haven't found myself needing these, but people have requested this time and time again, and I don't feel like it would hurt the game at all to have them implemented:

  • Disabling in-game chat.

If players that can't control themselves show this kind of initiative to make other players' experience better with them, I say give it to them.

Communicating solely through pings is better than players having unnecessarily unpleasant experiences with your game, especially since they often end up chat-restricted anyway. Many would rather have essentially a perma-restriction so they don't face further punishment for something they know they have issues with.

  • Another is teammate death announcements.

Again, I don't have issues with it, but many players say they start tilting automatically when they hear them early game. Might help, might not. Doesn't hurt to try.

I'm upvoting also because i have asked for this multiple times. I have played this game for 4 years. I probably need anger management. And i rage hard. And some times with really good reason. But all and all for me to have ALL chat disabled would be healthier for me and everyone else.

I have actually busted my monitor when playing this game years ago. I have never done this with any other game mind you. Stop punishing players for an option or alternative you didn't even provide to them riot. I didn't need to lose season rewards this year for something that could have been prevented by you.

You probably need to stop thinking that you have really good reason to rage. You're playing a video game... I'm pretty sure there's never a really good reason to rage out and break your monitor. You do need anger management probably. Settle down lol

I suppose for you emotional fucks that can't control your rage, yes this would be a good idea. But then you're just gonna spam pings when you get mad and that's not cool either. Now there's a bunch of players who I can't discuss anything with and they just spam pings to annoy others when they get all upset. Just stop being babies with your temper tantrums. And you tilt from hearing an ally has been killed?! How perfect a game do you need to not get mad? You really can't handle an ally dying early in the game? That tilts you and makes you think game over? Holy shit children grow the fuck up you babies.

Its not necessarily raging.

Its speaking exactly like you are that can get you banned. Your first line is more 'toxic' than the majority of players that have received warnings, and without any prompting towards you speaking that way.

Already said I don't have issues with it. People dying happens; its part of the game. If you let it tilt you, you need to work on your composure during competitions. Same with going off on someone in chat.

Alright good point, I'm speaking this way but it's not raging, just like being toxic in game. Good point. But I know I can get banned by doing it in game and I never would because of that. So why can't others just not do that in game? Because they can't control themselves is my only guess and I have no sympathy for that :/ I know that sounds mean but just being honest.

Some people have no empathy or sympathy, yes.

However, some people are just naturally impulsive, emotional, or speak in a way that can easily be misconstrued. None of those three things are something you can easily control or actively monitor in the heat of the moment, and none of them are the same thing either. You can have all three at once, even. In addition, pretty much everyone deals with their anger in a different way.

Pretending that every single person that has an outburst is just an immature person is a very ignorant way of looking at it, frankly. For those that have the foresight to KNOW that they have issues with speaking their mind, it would be a very nice feature that would give those people peace of mind, as well as improve the community by whatever margin of people it would affect.

There's not a reason not to implement it from your point of view, is there?

Ya there's not much reason why it shouldn't be, other than very minor communication issues, like anything that pings don't cover, which is very little and not THAT important.

Side note: I do have a lot of empathy for people and live my life by the golden rule because of that. Just remember we're trying to prevent these people from insulting and berating allies. I empathize with the people that get berated, not so much the people who can't help but bring others down. So I guess implementing it would help with the people who fall victim to flamers, so ya why not put it in.
