My actual question: am I allowed to send a report over player support inculding a screenshot? I do not trust the normal reporting system to take out this player fast enough. Well I just did that already, but now I'm curious if that is actually allowed...

If you are so mentally unstable that one anonymous message from someone you don't even know can send you spiraling into suicidal thoughts, the internet/video games might not be a good fit for you.
Rarely have I EVER seen someone blatantly tell someone else to kill themselves in chat without some sort of instigation. If you don't like someone's attitude, mute them move on with the game and your life. Don't be a bitch about it.

Someone being hurt because they are verbally attacked and then playing poorer is not 'feeding' and that person should not have to deal with more harassment because of it. And frankly just because something isn't illegal doesn't make it okay, ever.

Positive VS negative reinforcement. In other words, the more you harrass your team, the more they start to suck I.e.: GO ON TILT. It's why people on this forum are constantly pointing out that belittling your teammates is a surefire way to make sure they suck more and more and thus doesn't help.

See? that seems pretty stupid if you ask me. In sports, when I was playing goalie at the American Junior level, if I would have told my coach I let in a ton of goals because I didn't like the way he was talking to me, I would have been laughed at and cut. I don't see how this is any different.
Yeah this isn't the case in every situation, there are toxic feeds and they are the worst part of this game. But I'm making an argument for the exception.

Muting essentially means: I am no longer able to tolerate/endure what this other person is writing - therefore I give up and end this by blocking all means of communication.
Sure, it's good we have that function - after all not everyone is as enduring or resistant against stuff like that. But technically it's percieved as a sign of weakness.

That's how I view a toxic player who talks so much. Not really abusing, but rather annoying. However, their absolute inability to deal with someone standing up to them is so hilariously amusing that I'd never mute them ^^

Erdrik5 votesI wouldn't actively rile them up, to be honest. Remember there are 3 other players on your team(besides you and the troll) and 5 more on the enemy team.
However ... "noble" your intentions the end result is making a toxic situation worse for the other players in the match.

You are not there to engage in a chat war with a troll, you are there to play the game. And there are many who would report you for disrupting the game even if they are not directly apart of the scuffle.
And the thing about that? Riot will punish you for that report.
if I was the one who started it and riled up an innocent player, yes, ofc I would get a punishment.
But standing up against a clearly toxic bully? I doubt that's a punishable offence...

Shloonz1 votesThat's part of Riot's idiotic policy. The insulted player can only swallow all insults and can basically do nothing do defend himself. I understand that startign a flamewar in chat is problematic but being allowed to defend yourself should be ok.
The problem with the currents system is that you rarely get a message when someone got punished. That does feel like Roit does not care (which might be different). But the feeling of just having to tolerate internet scum without any countermeasures is there.

Mute them, play the game, report them after. There is no reason to need to "defend" yourself against random people you've never met and never will again. Their insults say more about them than they does you, given that they know nothing about you. And if you're desperate to "defend" yourself from that, well.. That winds up saying more about you than it does them.
So no, continuing an argument by "defending" yourself isn't any better.

Then they tilt about me feeding even though it's the first or second death. XD
