lets face it. nobodys perfect. and everyone gets frustrated. from my experience and ive been on all 3 sides. many people who rage usually dont do it for no reason. here are some tips to reduce in game rage. IF YOU ARE THE RAGER:

  1. stop typing. unless it's to ask for a gank or call out a dragon or baron 2.mute anyone you think may be trolling you or trying to bait you into getting banned. or better yet. just mute everyone. whether to inform them of a mute is up to you
  2. ignore anyone who is trolling in game. and report them as needed
  3. if you feel like it's the only thing thats going to keep you from losing your cool. afk and eat the leaverbuster. its better than risking a permaban

WHAT NOT TO DO: 1 troll in any way. 2.ask for reports. even if they deserve it. 3. tell someone you're reporting them. 4. allow your frustration to go unchecked.

IF YOU ARE A BYSTANDER:

  1. ask the rager politely to stop. if he doesnt. mute him. but still listen to his pings
  2. look at why they are raging and if their frustration is valid.
  3. report the person only if their rage becomes excessive. what defines excessive depends on you.

WHAT NOT TO DO.

  1. taunt. provoke name call, troll them. or take jabs at them in any way
  2. tell them they are being reported.
  3. ask others to report them
  4. give them the "silent treatment"
  5. rage back
  6. AFK

IF YOU ARE THE ONE BEING RAGED AT.

  1. apologize whether you made a mistake or not. a little ass kissing can go a long way. also listen to what they have to say. they may have been right. 2.mute them if they continue after the apology. whether you tell them is up to you. if you do mute them. you should still acknowledge their pings.
  2. report them if you feel like you need to,

WHAT NOT TO DO

  1. become passive aggressive or provoke them further or taunt them in any way
  2. try and bait them into saying something punishable
  3. tell them you're reporting them
  4. rage back
  5. afk
  6. ask others to report them

Agree with everything but these:

WHAT NOT TO DO. 4. give them the "silent treatment"

if someone starts raging, the silent treatment is exactly what they'll be receiving for the remainder of the match. Frankly, I instantly mute them. Raging isn't justified regardless if they are right/wrong, as mistakes are going to happen and these people need to learn how to communicate like adults and not children throwing tantrums.
