If you aren't going to use the mute option, why would use any other option?

mute can be turned off at will. and doesnt stop you from typing

Thank you for proving my point. If you don't have the willpower to mute them, I doubt you would have the willpower to any kind of other chat restriction.

You're missing the point here mate. The chat punishment is so you can (hopefully) learn to have people talk in chat without caring. Who cares what anyone is saying? It shouldn't bother you.

Either grow a thicker skin so you don't feel the need to respond to childish comments in chat or use the mute button.

If you want people to take your post seriously maybe you should try making it a real post. All caps is not exactly easy to read.

In the end you are the only one who can keep yourself in check. Riot could do a lot of stuff to assist, but if you feel the need to make a statement you will find a way.

So fix yourself rather than ask someone else to change. At least then you'll have a positive change that will follow you everywhere you go. All it takes is for you to keep hold of your emotions. It might not be easy but if other people can do it so can you. Stay focused on what is important at all times.

This is a public board. If you want to talk to Riot make a support ticket. Sometimes Riot replies on the boards, but this is primarily a place for players to speak to one another.

Move your chat box off the screen, or edit the config file to shrink it to nothing. If possible with your keyboard, you can rebind your enter key so you simply can't type.

To shrink your chat box, you go to your LoL > Config folder and open the game.cfg and PersistedSettings.json files. Find the line in each for ChatScale= and change the value. -100 should do. When in game, you can completely revert it by adjusting your chat scale option in the UI settings.

For rebinding your Enter key, gaming keyboards typically have options for changing every key, and you can have a quick-switch profile that simply makes the Enter key not do anything.

its not letting me change it. and i need something that cant simply be reversed with a button click i need to be able to not turn it off until im done playing

the chat scaling file is no longer there. i think riot did something to make it uneditable

ok it worked. however id still like something that i would have to be in lobby to turn off.

i have aspergers disorder. and league is one my coping mechanisms. however because of my aspergers. i find ignoring people difficult. particularly if im being taunted or provoked. and people like me are getting shafted. simply because riot would rather cast us out and ban us rather than help us not flame. a self imposed chat restriction would permanently fix my problems. but riot wont do it because "trolls would abuse it" well if your system could weed out non typing trolls. this wouldnt be an issue. a solution i had. give players a self imposed chat restriction accessible from login client. that in order to be turned back off. you would have to submit a support ticket. and be put on a waiting list. SOMETHING should be done by riot to help people like me

Also you can reduce your chat when you get ingame, go into your settings (esc) and it should be under communication where you change or chat size. Or was it video...

Go to a custom game and play with the settings.
