Edit: very sure the system knows that this guy rage quits too, since his name is in red at the post game screen indicating him disconnecting from the game.
They will be subject to the standard leavebuster punishment system.
If you reported him, you'll get a pop up notification if he got punished...you will not know if it was a X-Day ban or a permaban though
Obsessively stalk their OP.GG profile and see if they keep playing games.
Alternatively, lurk in Player Behaviour and Moderation to see if they post a thread regarding their "undeserved" ban.

good thing you arent required to win 100% of rank to climb
if you win 56%-60% of rank games and win on a consistent basis you will climb and the one afk here and there wont hurt you that much and p.s. the other team is just as likely to get an afker as you are... and it typically only happens in 8-12% of games...
Had about 75%+ non-contest games in the last few games lately, so that's a -300 LP difference from toxics and a few games on tilt.
It sucks just having to playing what has to be a non-serious game from champion select in order to just report the most toxic players, I just wish people would stop griefing silver during endseason. It's already hard enough with my dad having to do doctor visits all season.

Maybe if you guys ff instead of wasting his time you wouldn't have these problems. I'm never against rage quitting if you're playing with highly unskilled team. It's just a waste of time. People are trying to climb, it's best not to waste their time.
I'm trying to get to Silver again for the 3rd time this season before the season ends. And while I don't doubt I can do it, I can easily tell which teams I can carry and which teams I cannot and the biggest time waster is having to play out a game with a bunch of people you know just can't cut it. It would be much easier to climb if we could simply leave these games and try again next game. I admit, I rage quit from time to time when I'm playing with really terrible teams, though I wouldn't really call it rage. It's more like not wanting to put effort into something you know will yield no fruit.
I would really love for Riot to allow people to leave games whenever they want.
