Why is it people keep claiming that the automated reporting system works?

People on here always claim that the reporting system works when I keep running into egregious cases of intentional feeding and worse. It seems pretty flawed when someone can be Teemo and solo dive in-between towers into full health champions let alone use zero tolerance phrases such as wanting people to harm themselves yet they are still playing the game despite people on both sides reporting them.

I'm not sure if there is less faith to have in a reporting system that would seem to punish people for de-railing games but no ban people for using zero tolerance phrases and intentionally feeding. It is as if you are free to break the rules as much as you want but if the system randomly decides to catch you, you get punished and everyone agrees that you should have been.

Because for the most part it does. It just errs on the side of not punishing innocent players and, because people trying their base can often make stupid decisions or have bad games, it's far slower at detecting gameplay-based toxicity than we'd all like. In short, it is very accurate, but sometimes frustratingly slow.

Because there are varying degrees and standards for such a vague word like "works".

Then please explain why I was immediately banned false positive for one game of "intentional feeding"

Then send in another ticket and I'm sure they can resolve the matter like before.

As stated above. The system takes time. Some cases are harder than others. If you've had other reports on your account this can make your account suspicious.

Overall I get the feeling you will not be satisfied with anything I say as you already feel the system is unjust when it is not. I'd say send in a ticket about your concerns and have a Rioter talk it out with ya.

I'm not entirely convinced showing Riot made a mistake and correcting it proves that the report system doesn't work. But hey, each to their own I suppose. If you wish to be mad for the sake of being mad that is your choice. No system is perfect but Riot has a pretty good one.

Cheers, Awk

In my experience most people outside of this board do not think it works.

It works for bad language (it auto finds some words and bans instantly).

Intentional feeding is harder to prove and takes a while.

If you use racial language, you might make it 2 games before a ban.

intent feeding? Sky is the limit (my record is 79 games of 10% winrate "jhin support" before a ban).

Automated system works pretty well for the verbal toxicity cases.

Disruptive gameplay is largely handled manually.

When you use the post game screen and report players for griefing, the game will be forwarded for a PB specialist to review.

It does take time for a game to be reviewed. Mainly because there are so many games to review, so there is a backlog. There also is no notification when people are punished manually, which adds on to how people think others can get away with it, when in truth, the system just hasn't caught up yet.

Finally, and probably the most important part, what you think of as inting may not actually be inting. When infact that person is just having a terrible game, tilted and making more bad decisions on top of their already terrible ame.
