I think your post failed two out of those three criteria. If you didn't have anything productive to add to that thread, you could have stayed out.

Do you ever get tired of responding to the trolls who feign ignorance over a punishment or people who come on the Player Behavior board just to complain in general? I told Nami that she should probably sticky a lot of the stuff she says (especially about Naming and Shaming because people don't read the rules). It would probably make the work a lot less tedious and repetitive for you.

Hello! I was the one who posted the warning, and I admit I most definitely should have explained the reason for removal better. That is a mistake I made, and I will use this mistake to improve myself in the future.

However, I feel context is needed to understand why this post was removed. The post in question is here, in which a player explains that someone made a joke about their father in game, who died in front of him. It was a sensitive topic to him, and he was clearly upset. You then proceeded to comment, "Man up this is the internet anyone can tell you anything."

Telling someone they have to stifle their emotions from something that is sensitive to them, especially a death of someone dear to them, is very damaging to a person in terms of their experiences. It's almost demeaning to them, as if what they're feelings are somehow unjust or unnecessary. That is why it was removed. If you have any other questions, we are free to talk in the Boards Moderation Discord, and I do again apologize for not being 100% clear on the reasoning in the original deleted post.

that still doesnt beat the time i got me a 24 hour boards suspension for saying how if i were to lose my account to a permaban i would likely kill myself. and the mod told me "its not a cool thing to joke about" and threatened me with a permanent boards suspension

It may not be a sensitive response, but that is their opinion. They didn't curse, they didn't use pejoratives and, let's be very candid, even though it was said in a harsh way it is sound advice.

If you're going to be on the internet you have to be able to endure the slings and arrows that others will hurl at you from time to time; it's a cruel world out there and unfortunately the OP was (albeit not the nicest they could have phrased it) quite accurate in their assessment.

I gave a response like that the other day, excpet I phrased it like this, "I usually just laugh it off, you can't take what people say to you in an online video game seriously, I've had death threats, been told to kill myself, get AIDS and every other possible slur and slander you can imagine, just laugh about the fact that someone is so pissed they would say something that stupid to you in the first place". I basically said, "man up" but used a different tone.

If we're punishing people on the Boards for 'tone' then that's just a sad day in forum moderation history.
