League has become a game where talking is often less beneficial than it is negative.

Advice is always taken sensitivity and out of context thinking you're calling someone "bad" when you're just giving them advice

Extremely worse in lower elo

Muting everyone is often the best way to play the game

Having players literally writing hate speeches every game, ignoring it all game - reporting them at the end - no punishment

Having players continually abuse my teammates constantly to no end without any punishment

"League of mute the enemy team immediately and your teammates at the first sign of toxicity" is more like it.

If you grab the top edge of the chat box, you can just move it down off screen forever, and communicate via map pings. Plus you can still talk, since chat is still there (you just can't see it) if you want to make jokes to lighten the mood, or try to give helpful advice, without having to hear the insane and volatile responses from the children you would be basically be babysitting, had you left chat on screen.

That's the only thing that allowed me to continue playing League past the first week.
