Why are supports allowed to grief?

Just had another game with a "support" who spent the entire laning phase attacking as many minions as possible, usually not actually getting the cs, but making sure I couldnt get it either

This isn't even the first time this has happened, and I've yet to actually see any of these "support" players get punished for it

So, why is it supports get a free ticket to grief these days?

Apparently I am wrong, there are no rules about doing anything in any lanes at all apparently

So guess Ill just play w/e I want regardless of where the que places me, according to the forums anyway

You can keep calling it griefing. But its not griefing. Anyone is allowed to CS. Thing is, pro players started using tactic where only ADC farms so most solo queue players copy it. BUT THATS NOT RULE. If support wants, he can take all CS on lane. They get "free ticket" as you called it, because they arent breaking any rule.

I played Morgana top, our bot lane were Bard and Yasuo. I dont mind off meta picks. If you wanna play Teemo+ Cassiopeia bot, go for it. I would ALWAYS rather have players playing what they want to play than whats meta but they dont wanna play.

It's possible what you described is "greifing" sounds likes its more like they are not playing the way you think they should.

If they are international doing it to lose the game then its reportable ....unfortunately that is one of the situation you cant tell till the of the game based on their entire performance in the match

if you want a more structured game i suggest sticking with pre made with people you trust to play in a manor closer to your own play style.

In all modes including ranked, I play off meta ,off role champs in weird lanes, at times i play bottom but not the traditional "support" but not as a lane bully either,

If your playing any mode even "ranked solo que" and think everyone is going to take it as a seriously as you seem to be ..... you are mistaken .

Just take ranked as an example

If you join expecting everyone to play the way you think they should . You are again wrong.

If you want to take your "rank" and promos " seriously
If you want everyone to play meta
If you want full communication and strats
If you want everyone on the team to take this as seriously as you appear to .

This guy describes what your problem is. You are confusing rules for playstyles, and complaining that it isn't the rule to follow your playstyle.

Well, that would be very rude of you, and I suspect you wouldn't win many games, but yes, so long as you are supporting the team, you would not get punished.

If you have to put support in quotes, it's probably not playing support.

Considering Mundo does have CC and zoning abilities, it's very possible to play him as a support. That being said, any punishment you got would be based on how you play - if you play him as a support you won't get punished, but if you try and take over the lane completely (as in, if you tried to play APC, didn't zone, didn't poke, and only went for CS/kills) then you may risk a punishment.

If you believe someone was refusing to play their role, you're always welcome to file a report in game or through Riot Support tickets. That being said, they will look at the entire game and determine if enough evidence is present to punish. Keep in mind they will err on the side of caution in not banning innocent people when they decide to punish or not.

That being said, if someone is not supporting when they were assigned support, you can err on the side of caution and report. Nothing bad will happen if your report is decided not to be actioned on.

They won't look at anything. I've sent tickets in and checked on obvious ones like 6 mobis boots and the guy is still playing. I'm not mad about it, I just think player support isn't really there for that kind of thing. Each time you contact player support you get a different employee, and depending on who you get you may or may not get proper help. It's not a company fault. People just approach situations differently. Some people think feeding and trolling is worth investigating and others just coddle you and tell you they'll look into it and leave it at that.

Can you prove that they were intentionally attempting to make sure nobody got the CS? If you can't prove that, they won't be punished. There's no rule that supports can't CS, nor that they can't hit CS.

Supports low-key carry their team :'). Though, as someone who mains Support I will say that the chance of finding a chill and DECENT non-flame ADC is rare. I myself prefer to damage minions as a way for my ADC to kill them more quickly but I don't ever take CS from them. But u rite all supports aren't the same clearly, soz you get to deal with that lmao.

Are they playing bad, trying to cs, or actively trying to lose the game and piss you off? Only one of those is actually punishable.

I am a support main and hell there are times I take over the lane because my adc is not up to par. Sure some of them get pissed at me but in the end when we win, does it matter? Not really, play to win and you wont get punished, play to troll or lose and you will be punished.

Well griefing in general shouldnt be allowed
