I don't know where this came from or why it started, or why people think it's cool or a good idea to say at the end of a match. People say it in a roflstomp. People say it in a clutch close out after a back and forth long game.

All it does, and is meant to do, is create a shitty atmosphere for everyone involved. It is literally behaving in a way to lower other people's enjoyment.

Can we please stop this shit?

I can't believe there are actually people defending this cancerous attitude.

Just report it when they say that. It does contribute to their history over time. I've seen a lot of these players eventually receiving their punishment tier which included that in their chatlog.

they say it because they think its funny to make people upset. it is especially funny to them that 4 letters are enough to set people off.

anyone who says ggez are likely to be pleased and amused that they bothered you enough to make you write this post. so i dont think it is going to have the desired effect.

It's just another way for people to get the last word in before the situation is over, those people are the worse kind to try and have a argument / discussion with because it's never about the subject it's just saying the right words last.

When it's said humorously after a 53min match that was constant back and forth and either team could have won, it's rather tongue-in-cheek and funny. That's irony.

When it's said after you destroy the enemy team (or they destroy you) I think it's rude. That's douchery.

league matches you with randoms, so people can get away with it. and plus, it won't ruin the game for you, you already lost!

Saying GGEZ isn't a very harsh thing though, so it won't ever be enough to cause a punishment alone, but it can contribute to one slightly.
