This. And other passive aggressive jabs taken at people who have been punished should not be tolerated on the boards. The person coming to the boards to discuss thier ban is probably already frustrated enough without people rubbing thier nose in it like a dog. Yet for some reason. The mods don't seem to care. And ive even seen a few blues engaging in such behavior. Yet if i post a thread about how making it so giving out "dodge tokens" in ranked would reduce toxicity. In pb&m It gets deleted in less than 5 minutes for being "in the wrong board"

You're not wrong, but understand that a lot of people complaining about their bans demonstrate themselves to be the worst kind of League player. There's no good way to react when somebody makes a thread titled "RITO PLS UNBAN I DID NOTHING WRONG" and then posts logs of three games where they're constantly calling their teammates a variety of slurs. So yeah, sometimes when I see somebody out themselves as an individual that I'd intensely dislike to play with, I'll say something along the lines of "I'm glad I'll never be in a game with you". It's hard to feel bad about it, since it's VERY hard to get banned for behavior in League. You usually need to have a serious problem with behaving like an adult, even after several warnings.

Getting your thread deleted sounds like something else entirely, though.

just because they're "whining" doesnt give you the right to be a jerk. it's also actually very easy to be punished for chat. something as simple as calling people bad will get you punished if you get reported in enough games. particularly if you like to play off meta, or are in bronze 5, because people will report you just because they can. and although the false reports are ignored. eventually you get a real report. however due to the false ones. the system thinks you might be doing something subtle. and ends up restricting you for the 1 game of bad chat

my point. is people are so zealous about how "toxicity shouldnt be responded to by more toxicity" why should the boards not be held to the same standard

Basically with that statement I -- or anybody else - are just saying they are glad that toxic behaviour was punished as it should be. There is nothing toxic about it. They just state that they agree with Riot on that particular case of ban.

Of course if they say something like "I am glad you got nbanned you little fcktard"... well that is toxic and admins should do something about it.

But other than that I don't see anything toxic about openly agreeing with Riot's decision.

the reason i consider it toxic. is said banned player is already probably emotional enough because of getting punished. and not all players who get banned deserve it imo

99% of players that got punished deserved it. And the rest 1% can send ticket to Support and sort it out. Seriously, show me some players who got banned unjustly. In last 6 seasons I know only about one - the guy who played Singed support with Ghost and Smite. But that's one in all those years.

And yes, getting punished is emotional. But you are forgetting very important thing - they started it. I think telling someone KYS or you play like sht uninstall... is way more emotional and harsh than being told off by "i am glad you got banned".

Sorry, but I can't feel sympathy for someone, who have no manners, can't hold their tongue or insult others for no other reason than being bad at some random video game.

If the system thinks somebody might be doing something subtle, it will send it to manual review, not just go "oh well, let's just give him a ban and hope for the best".

I agree with your sentiment, but I still believe these sorts of comments are out of line. They just add to the 'lynch mob' culture that often pops up in this section.

I look at it similarly to the situations many people complaining about bans find themselves in. In-game, the people harassing teammates aren't saying anything productive at all. On the boards, the people making those "glad you're gone" messages aren't saying anything productive either. It actually sorts feels like those comments do the same thing back at the banned player than the banned player had been doing to people in game. If the whole 'eye for an eye' thing isn't acceptable in game, what makes it okay on the boards?

The person coming to the boards to discuss (whine and bitch) about their ban is guilty and is looking for empathy when all they had to do is to not do it in the first place. It's that simple.

The big one to me is leaverbusted. People can't get it through their thick skulls that only habitual leavers and dc's get busted, yet they still come here to whine and bitch about it because they lack any type of intelligence.

Go buy some tissue and cry elsewhere about your hurt feelings. Stop doing things to get punished. It's that simple.

These people ruin hundreds of peoples games before they finally get what they deserve.

And then they have the AUDACITY to come here, and complain, oftentimes calling non-toxic players weaklings, calling riot cancer, insulting everyone who disagrees with them, showing no introspection, admitting no mistake, and generally continue the same bullsh* that got them banned in the first place, right here.

The board community is right to tell them their opinion.

this is the point im trying to make. you should not be allowed to do things on the boards that would get you in trouble in game. it's a double standard. and it sets a precedent for in game toxicity. new players will see this and think "it's ok to be toxic as long as the other guy was too"

Not really... Forums and game serve an entirely different purpose. And there is an obvious difference between restricting communication in a game, and restricting communication on a communication platform.

Just to be clear, I hate the posts that really feature nothing but things like your title, but unless they are directly insulting, they are essentially just stating their opinion. And as unhelpful as simply stating your opinion without explaining it may be, such posts ultimately have to be tolerated on a forum. Moderation-wise, that is. Obviously other users of the forum don't have to tolerate them. We can state our opinions on their posts like they can state their opinions on other peoples' bans.

Since we're not flaming back, it's not the same thing. Passive-agressiveness is something that just happens. Flaming, on the other hand, is a much bigger issue.
