(just curious) did you ever afk because someone ruined the game for you intentionally?

i play since season 2 and i left 2 games because someone was doing everything he/she could to make me mad. it were 2 bad days i remember that, i just wanted to play. to have some fun and relax. in the first game someone came to my lane and started running it down because i said ghost is a better option on singed than flash (imo). i just left. after his 2nd death in my lane right under the tower i left the game.

the 2nd game was going pretty well at first, but i had 4 premades that just kept harassing me FOR NO REASON AT ALL i didnt even say anything. i left the game in under 10min.

im just curious how many of you guys had the same/similar experiences? i really cant blame myself/others for leaving such games. if you have a bad day and you just want to play and someone is doing everything possible to make you not have a good time while playing... you go. you just leave and i dont judge that tbh.

edit: i left the first game in season 3 and the 2nd in season 5. dont worry, i dont get tilted to the point where i leave often (2 times in 6 seasons)

Nope. I take pride in my problem solving skills and people skills to be able to ignore them or play around them.

Unless I had real life emergencies, I never AFKed.

When I first started playing, I half assed games after teammates did everything they could do to tilt me.

I didn't int or anything, but if they were in trouble, I'd do everything I could to ensure I was participating in the fight, but ensuring I would live and preserve my KDA. I saw no reason to die for teammates who only wanted to ruin my gaming experience.

I won't lie; I've quit maybe 3 games where my team was trolling me, flaming me and telling me to quit. Was a couple of years ago when I was going through a rough patch. It wasn't the right thing to do and I'd have totally understood if I got a punishment for it. That said, I did quit instead of running around in base trying to avoid leaverbuster.

afking because someone else did something bad to me makes no sense to me.

regardless if the problem is in the chat or in the game, you have to remember one thing: while the jerk will likely lose you the game, in the process he'll lose his account too. it's a great trade if you ask me...

with that in mind, i see no issue with not afk-ing

and no! i don't keep tabs on thir opgg history. i don't check progress every few days. i move on and forget they ever existed. the boards posts of other people doing the same things, coming to complain about their punishment are enough for me! and since i don't keep the names memorised, some of them may well be the ones i encountered.

In League of Legends - no. But, I did AFK (moreover, leave a match) in Smite once.

All I remember of it at this point was that our team had a toxic Bakasura who was flaming me and calling me trash, etc., and said he could easily carry "this useless team".

I said "fine, do it then." And left the match.

I stopped playing Smite after that.

i never did, simply because it serves no purpose and makes you look like a kid , it's like saying "hey guys look at me i'm so tilted about a videogame and now i'm gonna ruin your game too, because i'm such a mature human being"

moreover if you afk you get the leaverbuster, my time is precious i don't want to wait 20mins before i get to queue a game

Nope i have not. If it brings you some comfort the next time that happens....

Remember to mute them and let them do their thing. They are attention hogs and if they want your attention, dont give it to them. Ignore them. If you leave because of them they start laughing. If you stick around and ignore their existance, they will get bored as hell and probably leave themselves.
