The real reason League will ALWAYS be toxic

every single person who plays league of legends whether they like it or not, is "toxic" in some way. they are simply divided into different categories

  • "i should be allowed to express frustration" these players don't see"toxic chat" as a problem so much as trolling, noncompetive players in ranked, the idea of being permabanned for something as petty as calling someone "bad" and truly feel like they are the ones in the right, and riot is enabling the community's oversensitivity. some of them even see trolling as another way to express frustration

  • the children these are the people who will troll and be negative not out of malicious intent, but simply out of boredom or immaturity. they don't want to be told what to do, and will throw a game, or sabotage another player if it means not being told how to play. whether it be in ranked or normals

  • the "truly" negative players.

these are the players who are also probably bullies in real life, who troll and insult people because they get a kick out of it, or because they were slighted by riot and/or the community, and even the report system itself is another tool to bully people

  • The paladins

as a certain person on the boards would say " the RBSC" these are the self righteous people who think that "negative" players are a disease, and are simply something to be exterminated like vermin, when in reality, they are equally as negative as the people they discriminate against. they just don't realize it. they cannot comprehend the idea that some people really don't have emotional control. and often times, are actually some of the worst offenders. and often have inflated egos because not only do they feel theyre right, but riot tends to side with them.

And people who make sweeping generalizations.

League is toxic by itself for a simple reason 98% OF THE PLAYERBASE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME. Simple as that. Do you think it wouldn't be toxic to play soccer with 21 obese people that don't even know that a ball can roll? Do you think you could play Maio Kart with people that don't know which is the accellerator button and which is the right direction to go?

No, you just can't. But, riot started this game backed up by a chinese corporation that wants only one thing in existence: MONEY. This game was started a) for actual gamers b) for people that had previous warcraft and DOTA experience, what riot encouraged by tencent did, was to make this game available to the biggest audience possible trying to suck in EVERYBODY, even people that have no idea what a videogame is or even enjoy it.

This of course created a heavily frustrating situation that would have resulted in the top% of good and actual players to kick out all the casuals and people not interested in playing this game, AS IT HAPPENED WITH EVERY SINGLE VIDEOGAME COMMUNITY EVER SINCE HISTORY RECORDS. Riot couldn't stand this, so they created this psychotic and ill environment where players are pampered and forced in a situation where they become ACTUALLY toxic players and unskilled players, they simply don't give a fuck, all they want is

  1. play the game so we have an active playerbase
  2. give us money
  3. don't scare away other customers If you're against it, you're out.

Imagine if you could grab your average garbage player by the t-shirt and shout right into his face "YOU'RE AN IDIOT, YOU FUCKING SUCK", this would shatter his false reality he has created around himself and riot enabled him to do so and would face the hard way the fact that there is something wrong with him. Now what are the possible outcomes?

  1. he realizes that he was his own problem all along and improves
  2. he decides to pussy out and abandons the game
  3. he has a mental breakdown and decides to troll on purpose and try to escape from himself and reality which eventually 3) happens because no matter how stupid a human being is we all have a basic instinct that can be damaged as much as you want , but you can't remove it entirely, that's how mother nature works.

This is why bronze players call you bad when you're pointing out their mistakes and giving them advices, it's because they're here to have their ego stroked, not to play the game.

Also a bunch more of things, but i got sick of typing. Also yes, the children, yesterday i realized that people born in 1999 are 18 today and i almost had a panic attack.

Problem is with Riot's match making system. It inherently leads to frustration.

You left out the category of people with pessimistic opinions.

Where would you place in these categories?

"Toxicity" will never go away because its not a real thing. Ever notice how everyone complains about OTHER people being toxic. That's because everyone is "toxic"....because everything from telling someone to stop sucking, to telling them how to play properly, to ... well saying pretty much anything is "toxic".

Until they put a massive differentation and set of rules and conduct for normals vs ranked and get rid of this doublethink pc BS, nothing will ever change but they don't care because they think mommy and daddy will just buy more RP on kiddies new account.

Lol this isn't gonna go away nor will it improve for this toxic community. Heck this game isn't just toxic like any other game, but it actually produces toxic players. How are you gonna stop this toxicity if you keep placing okay players with trolls/badplayers/smurfs. The system is beyond broken even in rank. Especially the rank promotion which is kinda stupid when you have troll players purposely deranking you.

Please complaining on a forum with a bunch of PC sjw players that would defend these bad players only to be a hypocrite on bashing down an opinion that is actually true to an extent. I mean seriously you're getting down voted for stating your own opinion by these ego eccentric PC players.

I think the problem is people think ranked is a social experience.
