This one's for you, "toxic" players.
DISCLAIMER I have read through the UNIVERSAL RULES and though there's no rule against explicit language, it does mention being inadvertently offensive to others. That shouldn't be a problem, since not anywhere in this post do I EVER verbally assault any identity, whether indirectly or subliminally. And if you TRULY feel that ANY of this is offensive to you, well...you're proving just why this needs to be a topic.
This is a post for the men and women who don't bother to troll, yet saying that their Jungler "spent too much time jungling instead of ganking lanes" is viewed as disrespectful by three too many. It's a post for the "fuckers" who drop too many "fuckin"' f-bombs because their daily vocabulary seems to be taken straight from the "goddamn" "shitlist" of American swearwords. It's a post for the culturally savvy who, like me, make it a point to give "ma %%%%%" his props for that "sexy-ass" baron steal--AND grabs the lantern for the survival! ("Good shit", am I right?) You might casually mention that you were "raped" by Baron Nashor after accidentally attacking it while trying to ward, or that it's "gay af" how Xin Zhao is constantly sitting in your lane's nearest river bush, polishing his spear, and near the end of a notably amazing game, you tell the other team that they "only lost because Nasus spent too much time farming."
This is a post for the people who want to elevate their fellow player, whether through education in what they do wrong, or with a bout of enthusiastic praise that only a sailor's mother could love, or can't help telling the other team what went wrong, yet someone decided to use their words against them, regardless of the positive message behind what they say. I've been there. You've been there. And unless you're one of the few who mute everyone the moment the game starts, at some point you'll be greeted when you return to the main screen with a message saying you'll be on chat restriction for a set amount of games. You'll be unable to receive rewards for your great gameplay, your honors, your season rewards. You'll be put in the same category as those guys and girls who were banned because they decided to repeatedly die in-game because they couldn't get the roles they desired.
What's there to segregate "toxic behavior" and "personality" in a year known for those with a social agenda hoping to get their way by claiming victimization on a game where anybody with a grudge turns to "gang reporting" and "punishment bullying" tactics to get revenge? The player base of this game spans so many differing demographics--so many different types of people from all walks of life with all sorts of personality types... Does the system of standards and guidelines protect only a certain type of person? Are we as a collective expected to act only a certain way? A community will only be a community when we are allowed to be who we are while granting each other the consideration, empathy, understanding, as well as the recognition that there's a difference between:
"my blue %%%" "LOL fuck you I told u to get it anyway"
and
"my blue %%%" "why would you take blue when I said I want it? FUCK YOU"
This might have been spoken on at some point in time that I'm just not aware of, but as it's an issue I personally would like to discuss...
LET'S DISCUSS.
