its been like 5 minutes since i reported and i still havent gotten the "a player you reported was banned" message

There is no guarantee that you get a message at all. The player may or may not have been punished, but there is not expectation of getting any response back.
Same man. I said "fuck you Nasus" in response and was permanently banned for it :). The automatic ban system is very flawed, and I don't believe humans look over it much due to lack of man power.

You only get the message if you were the last person to report them. Someone else might of reported them as well.
The "a player you reported was banned" message only appears for one of the people who did the reporting. It's possible that someone else reported them, and they got the message.
Over the internet. I think you'll live,move on
just check his op.gg and see if he is still playing.
